Spot the Spambot

I thought it might be fun to play "Spot-the-Spambot".

Here's how to play - when you see a "new member" listed at the bottom of the forums page ('newest registered user is _______ ) if you think it is a spambot then post your accusation here. Then, if it is NOT a Spambot, the new member can post here and disprove your accusation and introduce themselves. A fun way to meet knew members while mocking the spambots.

Everyone who wants to play getts 1000 Spot-the-Spambot (StS) credits. When you make an accusation you list how many credits you are willing to wager that the new member is a spambot. If the new member posts here or elsewhere - and sufficently proves they are not a spambot - then they get your wager and you loose those credits. If the 'new member' turns out to be a spambot - as evidenced in its posting porn links or the like - then you win double your wager.

It seems there will be significant lag in placing your bet and getting back credits since the majority of spambots don't seem to be posting (or Loc is the master blaster with eliminating their posts), so count your credits as still being with you despite having wagered them until there is a result. So you could have more than 1000 credits in wagers out at once but if they all come back real then you are in the hole with negative StS credits.

So when you make new accusations maybe list your old ones as well, a running accusation list. It really shouldn't be hard since your previous list in an early post can just be copied pasted and added to. And maybe list your credits too

Ok it may not be too clear as far as the rules, but it still might be fun...

Yeah, it is hard to show restraint when it is play money - or someone else's money, but that is another story - so what we will have to do is have the Admin get in on the fun and anyone who goes into negative StS credits will have their Avatar forcefully changed to Jar Jar and their signature quoute to "d20 rules, d6 drools". Twisted Evil

And if you look at all the recent members, there's a long list of users I'd bet good money are spambots: JenniferHernande (levitra), Joseph-Clark (phentermine), M_Turner (profecia), KennethThomas (levitra), BMiller (profecia), Ruth-Carter (ambien), B-Turner (levitra), Fannie Mitchell (conferences), HelenRodrigue (viagra), D-Moore (valium)...

Why the hell is there such a great interest in selling farmaceutics online??!!

Jasonkelly (lesbian) is a standout bot, he even managed to fill some other fields besides website. His occupation: Basketball (I think he means he's a pro player), his Interests: running, and his Signature: Basketball (guess he really loves the game).

Sadly, our latest real user is Keradim, and after him there were 13 signups I'm sure are spambots. That's a terrible average....
