Hi folks
I have recently created the stats for a starfighter on a website that someone posted on this forum. The website allows you to create all the details of your ship (and includes a rough cost estimate) but the one thing it does NOT do is allow you to make a picture of the ship for use in your game. I would like to incorporate the ship I designed in my game, but would really love to have access to some ship designs so I'm not starting from scratch. I recall one of the other GM's showing us a top view shot of a few ships, looked like the roof was invisible so we could see the inner parts of the ship and where everything went, etc. Does anyone know of any online diagrams of a whole wack of starfighters that I could download? Googling it hasn't seemed to work. I know Gry HAD a Starship book going but it has been removed. Any help here would be appreciated...
Thanks! |

If you're making a starfighter, there's not really much use for a deckplan detailing the interior. Most starfighters are just a seat and the controls.
If you were making a Freighter or something of that size, I'd recommend looking through the Star Wars Artists Guild libraries and also Deckplan Alliance. There are a lot of exterior drawings and deckplans over there. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

It's a starfighter but 48m long so a decent size. I will take a look at those (I'm assuming they are websites?) - thanks Gry! |

How the heck can a starfighter be 48m long? That's a military transport, gunship or something like that, but not a starfighter. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Depending on the technology base that produced the fighter, 48 meters might be appropriate. The Nebulon Ranger from Tales of the Jedi is said to be 150 meters long, and it's just a two-man courier, eight if you count passengers.
Further, there is precedent in 'modern' times for large starfighters such as the TL-118 Starhammer at 35 meters in length, the Freefall bomber at 30 meters, the StarViper at 21 meters, the Vanguard at 47 meters, the Preybird at 21 meters, the Skipray at 25 meters, and the Zephyr at 50 meters.
Now granted, some of those indeed ARE gunships, but with the exception of the Skipray which is often used as a fighter, they are all starfighter scale. And the massive Zephyr (from Politics of Contraband) is specifically described as a 'Light Combat Fighter. |

I think where Gry is going with this is that if it is a single passenger fighter, then it's a little large for that. As far as starfighter scale goes, the Falcon at 26.7 meters, is listed in that range as well.
In terms of a single passenger "traditional" fighter, think along the lines of the X-wing at 12.5 meters, the A-wing at 9.6, or the Z-95 Headhunter at 11.8 meters long. _________________ Check out some of my games at DriveThruRPG!

The website that you could "design" your ship on had starfighters being between 1-50 meters long. I wanted to get 3 people on it so I took close to the max length. I have since decided to go with a more YT-1300 looking freighter so there shouldn't be any problems anyways...by the way thanks for the direct - found some cool ships on the Star Wars artist's guild site! |

I don't think the Deck Plans Alliance is up anymore. It hasn't been working for me. Anyone else have this problem? _________________ Rebel Uprisings
