What WEG book or books contain information on the construction of Lightsabers? _________________ "I've got a bad feeling about this!"

Thank you both. I did read in the Jedi Handbook (webbook) something about different crystals and that a jedi gets a +2 bonus to strike and parry with a saber he constructed. It has some rules about construction as well. I remember reading somewhere about Jedi being able to specialize their sabers for themselves but i can't find it again. _________________ "I've got a bad feeling about this!"

The Star Wars RPG Network has a great net guide on lightsaber construction. I'll see if I can find it on my hard drive and post it here. |

That's correct; there are a number of features a Jedi can choose to either include in initial construction or add later. There are also a number of different crystals which have different properties; in the Tales Of The Jedi Companion there's a list of crystals that gives you a range of damage done by the blade produced.
In addition to that, there are also different crystals which have other effects; some make a stronger blade, others add bonuses to the Control and Sense roll for the purpose of making the activation of Lightsaber Combat easier for the Jedi. These two crystal types are somewhat rare. The latter type, when available, are given to Padawans by their Masters when constructing their lightsabers so they can get the feel of using the Force in conjunction with their combat skills. |

Were there ever any official rules for adding things to a lightsaber? Like a concealed blaster in the hilt or a comlink? I know I've seen house rules for this, but can't recall if anything official was published. _________________ Aha! |

Nope, nothing official. Just fan stuff. I don't think that WEG ever went anywhere close to doing combination blaster/lightsaber weapons. Most of the material (understandably so) made them seem like to very different weapons with very different philosophies. |

I found this webpage that has a cool system for lightsaber construction. I will probably try it in my campaign.
