This is great, Rerun. We've talked about doing such a thing for a long time. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

In respect of the wishes of these artists, I've removed the link to the Starships Stats book. I never meant to step on anybody's toes, much less a fellow fan's, my intentions have only ever been to compile some quality material into an easy-to-use fashion.
Oh well, I'm truly disheartened at this, as I don't know what to do with this book, and am also at a loss regarding the upcoming "Starships Stats - Revised and Expanded".... |
You did the right thing in removing the book. I made the mistake once of designing a website using the graphic made by a fellow cave exploerer. I plugged his book hard on the site and I was going to show him the finished result just knowing he'd love it and give me permission to publish it. Well... he passed away and the say-so went to his next of kin. His wife got nervous about someone else using the graphic and said no. Tough times.
With the new book, you've got a couple of options. First, you could abandon the revised and expanded project. (I really hope you don't do this.) Alternatively, you could spend the time going through the book editing out the pictures. Maybe you could find other pictures and ask permission ahead of time?
Whatever you do, you have my sympathies and support. I really know how you feel. |

I made up a Force Power Tree in MS-Excel that shows all the prerequisites for each force power. I had to limit it to "Jedi" powers only (ones that don't immediately give a Dark Side Point with use.)

Arg! I don't have Excell! Is there any chance of getting a pdf copy? |

We could always try to replace the deck-plans by ourselves, and find some other art to replace the ones wich have to be removed: a common effort might save the day, in the end...

Yeah, I'm not much of an artist, but I'd be willing to put down the Force Powers R&E to help. |

Humm... I don't know. It would take a really titanic effort to replace all that artwork... I'm not sure it's worth it.... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Well, if you want to have an exact idea if it's worth the effort, you should list out all the artwork to be replaced, so that you have all the amount in front of you... ...then we can consider the rest... ...imho.

Wow, what can I say; I just downloaded Gry's alien stats book and I'm totally stunned. Enough aliens to fill the cantina scene I always dreamed of! I'm still one set of Ongree stats short of a happy gamemaster (I was actually searching for that species, too, but didn't know the name), but it's an awesome piece of work, that will have a huge impact on my games!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! _________________ RPGGamer (featuring a big portion of DLOS-stats!)

Thanks a lot for the compliments and support guys, it's much appreciated!
And as for Ongree stats, you can find them in the "Galaxy Guide 15 - Attack of the Clones" book, which was made later (page 47). _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them."

I am having issues with downloading any of the files from these links. Clciking normally gets them to open a new link, but it shows up with nothing visible. I literally see through it, and the window that is underneath it. I tried save target as so the download saves right to my documents. But that ended up in a document that adobe couldn't read. The download took about a hour and a half as well. Really unusual over all. _________________ Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. Psalm 145:3 |

I really apologise for this.
In fact my internet provider (www.free.fr) allows a web space of 1Go, but bandwidth is limited for any non-Free user.
If anybody can find another hosting solution, it would certainly be better for everybody (and I can keep the files there just in case...)
ps : the 'save as' is really the better option, maybe you could try with a download accelerator (maybe it wiil speed the d/l and will make sure the files are not corrupted after d/l)
edit : I just tried with Leechget (http://www.leechget.net/) and it seems to work perfectly (10 simultaneous connections) |
