I had a guy who didn't trust tech too much, so he always used a sweet shotgun, when we came across a jedi he kicked his @$$ so quickly (can't parry that many shots)! _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

One of the benefits I was talking about put into practice.
Now imagine a gauss sniper rifle…its silent, accurate, and you don’t see the “fire” (bolt, bullet, etc.), all that with multiple munitions to choose from. I would take that over a loud, visually noticeable blaster for a mission where I had snipe someone any day. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

I don't suppose it really matters very much, sepecially if your sneak and hide are good enough. Besides, shotguns are just plain cool! _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

True, but the last thing any decent sniper wants to do is give up his position. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

While most of the firearms i use only have std and AP rounds (ignore 1d worth of armor protection) i do use others for my 2 sniper rifles. Including WP rounds (white phosphor and magnesium filled), explosive, heavy target interdictor (for blasting that pesky cover away), and neuro toxin filled... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I think i made the WPM rounds, 7d damage base, out to 3 feet, dropping 2d for every 3 feet there after. Burning for 3 rounds, loosing 2 die each round. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

ahh ok, i appreciate that.. .. i didn't know what to put the dmg as so i used 2d per round for like 5-10 rounds, after the initial slug hitting them, so if the slug didn't kill them, the phos would... and if the slug did kill them, the remains wouldn't be ID-able |

That's a bit excessive, damage wise, for a bullet. That put's a single shell on par with heavier ordinance already in the game. At best, I'd only increase the base damage of the round by 1D at most, but have it burn for a number of rounds (losing 1D per round). _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

Have you actually seen one of thse rounds used? I have. My giving it a 7d for 3 feet, is extremly lienient imo... that should be more like 3 meters!... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I think one reason the books don't have more types of ammo available for firearms is that firearms are basically archaic weapons in the Star Wars universe. Maybe at one time different types of ammo were more prevalent when firearms were widely used, but there just isn't the demand for it anymore. :D |
One advantage to "Sluggaz" is that you can suppress both the report of weapon and the muzzle flash. Last time I checked, you can't suppress a blasta... _________________ God may have made man, but Gospodin Kalashnikov made them equal.... |
