I recall seeing both a 3/4 and 1.5 hyperdrive multiplier for some WEG published material. Anyone remember where they are? I can't find em for the life of me.
Also, would you include these as part of the hyperdrive modification chart?
Old/New Difficulty Cost
4x/3x Very Easy 10%
3x/2x Easy 15%
2x/1.5x Moderate 20%
1.5x/1x Difficult 25%
1x/.75x Very Difficult 30%
.75x/.5x Heroic 40% _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook does list the Outrider at x3/4 on the Hyperdrive Multiplier. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

I've noticed that there is an unwritten rule in WEG books that no ship can ever go faster than the Millenium Falcon, in keeping with its rep as "the fastest hunk-of-junk in the galaxy". I've gone as far as to adopt that as a house rule in my own games, simply because it amuses me.
For the record, my party's own YT-2400, The Idiot's Array, has a multiplier of x7/8, because relatively fresh characters shouldn't be able to outrun Dash Rendar. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |

And I thought I was being generous by allowing my group to start with a x3 ship... 8) |

Ooooh, thanks guys! I knew I had seen it somewhere. And for the record, the two ships listed in the Wretched Hives of Scum and Villany sourcebook both have a x1/2 multiplier. So, even WEG published ships as fast as the Millenium Falcon. BTW, I found the x1.5 on the Hapan Battle Cruiser from the Alliance Threat Dossier. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

I kept wanting to get a X1.9 or a X1.75 from my GM, but, "No official Rules" kicked in again. |

Akari,
x3? Even a stock YT-1300 or Ghtroc has a multiplier of x2. x3 is slow. I gave them such a fast ship since 1.) the ship belongs to an NPC that I run, although the pilot is one of the PCs, and 2.) it's an arms smuggling campaign, running weapons and tech from the Corporate Sector to the Rebellion and back. There's lots of other problems with the ship that they are dealing with, but speed is not a problem. I used the base stats for the YT-2400 from Pirates & Privateers which provide for a base multplier of x1, and tweaked from there.
Rerun - I knew there were other ships as fast as the Falcon, I've just never seen one faster.
Ray - I don't see a problem with that. It's just a matter of tweaking your ship, and there are rules for that. Of course, with my x.875 it helps that I AM the GM. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |

I thought I remember reading in one of the novels that the Falcon got a long overdue overhaul, and the tech said that it could now get to x.25 _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"

If my timeline ever gets that far along (my game takes place in the Rebellion era, between the Battle of Yavin and the Battle of Hoth) I may allow for that, but only then. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |

Humm... not really, Skyler. Wizards' books list the Royal Starship as having a .5 hyperdrive, which is already not too shabby at all, 30 years before Yavin....
Where did you get the .33 info from? _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

It's been some time since I saw stats on that ship. I actually don't remember everything about it; I just remember my eyes bugging out when I saw the hyperdrive multiplier. I even think it was in a book or magazine I was just thumbing through, and didn't end up purchasing.
So if you have stats saying .5, I'd go with that, unless I manage to dig up the .33... |

WotC's website does list the Jabitha as a Class .4 hyperdrive, which puts it at a greater speed that the Falcon. However, by the time Han gets the Falcon and boasts it's the fast ship in the galaxy the Jabitha has long since been lost. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Yet another continuity flaw discovered, at either .33 or .5. I do not acknowledge the existence of Episodes I-III in my games, or the Special Editions of IV-VI. Things like this are part of the reason why. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |
