Remain Conscious is also invaluable if you've been drugged, stunned, hit over the noggin, or drank to much, to give you time to use other powers (like Detoxify Poison or Control Pain).
Control Pain often seen as being useless because you trade 1D in wound for 1D in MAPs, but think of the broader uses? Ignore stun damage, or get rid of that -3D after remaining conscious from a mortal wound or -2D from incapacitated. There are so many other uses too, most of which fall under situations outlined by the GM.
These are just three powers, there are so many more that could come in handy. Creative or timely use of Receptive Telepathy can always grant useful clues. You just need to ask the right questions when using it. |
Didn't use DP to outdrink a Gammorean, but I DID use it to win a lum-guzzling contest and win us some credits with which to book passage off of the planet we were stuck on.
The best part was not having to "pay the piper" later by hurling it all back up. |

Once, we had to go through a terminal where Stormtroopers were checking to see the correct papers. We didn't have any documents of any sort, so I, being a Jedi, fooled them by waving with, "You've already seen our papers..."
It was so funny! We were just laughing our heads off...
Oh, also. Our Rebel Spec Force squad was infiltrating an Imperial camp. I was being disguised as a Stormtrooper and I was actually questioned, but then I tricked him into thinking that I was an officer and what the heck does he think he's doing to me. He apologized and ran off... |

Farseeing to look into the wall to see the alarm or electronic lock circuitry followed by Absorb/Disipate Energy to drain only the circuits needed to bypass it. When the guards realize you're gone, your door is still locked and alarmed!
Farseeing to read the other guy's sabaac cards.
Telekenesis to win at dice and roulette.
Telekenesis to drop power packs out of blasters.
Telekenesis to disconnect power cables inside battle droids
Telekenesis to lift yourself (in a vacc suit) from the planet to the orbiting space station after the Empire shuts down the shuttle service. _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

Receptive Telepathy for 1D6 rounds followed by Affect Mind to have some Imperial hear his commander give him an order of your choice (stop the AT-AT, withdraw his squad, lower the deflector shields, reactor overload! shut down all power!, whatever).
Telekenesis to fly your team's ship to the nearest starport so the engine, which was completely destroyed, can be replaced.
Telekenesis to jump to the top of the ten story building, or catch your team mate who fell off.
Absorb/Disipate Energy (as in sensors) to render the team's ship invisible.
Absorb/Disipate Energy (as in light) to render yourself invisible.
and my personal favorite: Telekenesis to return grenades and missiles directed at you back to their owners. This is particularly useful if you're not that good of a starfighter pilot. Lead bounty hunter to his team after losing four men: "Do not throw grenades at the Jedi!" _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

Receptive Telepathy for questioning prisoners. Who do you work for? City records. And how long have you been working for 'Ploovo Two for One'? What!? No, I've never heard of... Where can I find this crime lord? I don't know what you're talking...Thank you, I'll see to it he knows what a help you've been to us. I suggest you get offworld as fast as you can.
Farseeing After the Imperial command post has moved, stand where they were and listen "in the past" to their orders to see what they're about to do.
Control Disease in Another Control...as in "cause to grow at a ridiculously fast rate"...(Dark Side Point)
Receptive Telepathy for 1D6 rounds followed by Affect Mind to convince the Xenomorph from LV 426 that you're one of them. _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

One of my players likes to play Dark Jedi. Instead of force choking or something like that to kill someone, he's fond of using the force to explode the body, or rip the guts out of them or something. Like ripping their organs out through the rectum and things of that nature. (My Star Wars games have become anything but PG as a result)
He calls it "Force Pudding" for the meat "pudding" left behind when he does it. |

This "Force Pudding" intrigues me... exactly how many DSPs does said character gain for such an ability? _________________ Rebel Uprisings

For more clever and violent ways of killing, I generally give double the amount of DS points or, triple depending on how far he takes it. He started out weak, but after gaining enough skills and abilities he's gotten to be pretty powerful. As a result, he's capable of seriously savage acts of brutality. He would push people off of things, and use the force to pop out people's eyes or force them to evacuate their bowels and all kinds of things. He'd usually torture the victim before finishing them off in a gruesome way. As a result he earned as many as 10 DS points in a game.
For awhile, he really was the villian in the game and the other players were always trying to kill him. Though he usually won the fights.
I went up against him with my own player character, a light Jedi of reasonably comparable skill and power, while someone else ran the game. We fought for a very long time. It was a moving fight too. The inside of the Star Destroyer was screwed up and when it was said and done, he had lost a hand and a foot to my light saber. I had lost part of an arm or a hand or something like that. Plus I had been stabbed in the side pretty good. We ended up getting split up when the Star Destroyer started to lose altitude and began to crash. I made it to my freighter and took off, and he had left and went somewhere else, unbeknown to me at the time.
It was then he retired the character and started playing an X-Wing pilot. |

My current Jedi character, together with a Besalisk Jedi (both Padawans), need to get real creative in a hurry; we're stuck in Imperial custody with Darth Vader on his way to "meet" us... |

Once I heard of someone squeezing a storm troopers kidney to make him go to the bathroom and leave his post. |

I'll have to remember that one... hehehe
Right now, we're in a storage room with four troopers outside in the hallway, and four more in an adjacent room. That's the extent of what I can sense, so there's no telling what else is out there.
It just figures, though... my Jedi is also a slicer, and they nabbed my datapad...
I'm gonna have to squeeze more than just a kidney... |
