|
|
Hi,
yesterday i wondered what happens if a PC upgrades his attributes: do the related skills increase as well?
Example: Mirna has 4D dex and 5D +1 Dodge
She manages to increase DEX to 4D+1
Does Dodge grow up to 5D+2 due the increase of DEX?
I confess i could not find it in the rules (i'm sure it's there, but still i cannot see this piece of info...)
Thanks in advance

Correct. All skills under that attribute also increase one pip. |

Which is why, sometimes it makes more sense, to hold on to those CP and wait till you have enought to bump up the attribute.
Case and point. My old character, marcus Pennik, had 2d+2 dex (due to being an Old Republic Scout), blaster 4d+2, (S) pistol 6d+2, dodge 6d+2, firearms 7d+1, Melee/melee parry tied at 5d+1, running 4d+1, thrown weapons 4d, archaric weapons 4d, bows 4d+1, grenades 4d, blaster artillery 3d+2. At some time, i cannot remember when, i simply decided to not bother increasing them, just wait till i could up the attribute. Did that twice, over 23 games (10 games between each increase of an attribute)... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Agreed. It's very economical (CP wise) at the lower attribute levels to increase the entire attribute rather than several selected skills.
Of course this assumes that you wish to make a lot of use from that Attribute or many of the skills under it. Barring that, sometimes it's just handy to have a boosted attribute if something unexpected comes up (random beast riding, hacking an assassin droid on the fly, knowledge of Gungan courtship rituals, etc.) _________________ Aha! |
