Since some guys of our player group started asking me about mastering a new SW campaign i digged up my old books from my parents basement. I recently acquired some books from hidden the hidden stocks of my gamestore, but i still didn't find the Stock Ships.
Can someone say that it's worth investing my time to actually find this book, and what can i expect to find in it?
Thx |

Stock Ships is a very simple book, but certainly worth your time looking for it, specially if you already have it!
What this book contains? Well, Stock Ships! A good bunch of them, generally light-medium freighters and yachts. What you'll get on each ship model: A Text describing the ships's history and peculiarities. Stats for the stock model. A picture of the ship. A full deckplan on the ship (very nice and useful). A modified verision of this model, with it's history, special modifications and stats. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Thx, i've got some people looking around for it now... It actually never made it to my old gamestore, it went bankrupt just before WEG...
Seems like something i could use for the upcoming campaign, but i'll use the stats i have in my own books for now. |

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Stock Ships, even if some of its deckplans are mislabeled and/or make precious little sense. _________________ Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. |

Agreed. Though their ones for the HT-2200 IMO were spot on. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I love the HT-2200. It's the ship I try to get in games. _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"

My group of players turned an HT-2200 into a "mobile destruction platform"
Stocks ships is a really good book and a welcome collection to your SWRPG library |

Anyhow, should you have this jewel hold on to it, on www.trollandtoad.com (or something simular) they would sell it at 79.95$, when they have it in stock that is... |

IIRC it lists both that and te L=19 as being hard to modify. What type of modifier do you give them when they try to make mods??? +10 to the diff? +15? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

For that situation it really depends upon the extent and nature of the modification. Fine tuning the engines or shields or welding a little extra armor on, I don't apply any sort of multiplier. For radical redesigns, like turning your nice respectable freighter into 600 tons of shrieking death, that might require a +10 or so. I don't make any distinction between different ships, regardless of description.
Of course if the players are resourceful enough to find someone with the Starship Engineering (A) skill, no penalties apply. The sky, and the bill, is the limit. 8) _________________ Aha! |

Was that in a rulebook somewhere? I seemed to have missed that one. Where can I read about it? |

Do you mean the skill itself? I believe it's in the RPG 2nd Ed. with the blue Vader cover. Seems like it received some mention in Tramp Freighters, but I could be mistaken.
I think the first time I saw it was either in Starfall or Crisis on Cloud City, but I don't think it was listed as an advanced skill then since 2nd Ed. didn't exist yet. _________________ Aha! |
