Thanks! Do you have any idea about putting sheild generators in? I'm starting to think that 3D hull is not enough...

3D Hull? OUCH!

Shield Generator Purchase/Installation is in Tramp Freighters. Buy a new one, have it installed ("Or do it yourself if you're so blasted good. Just don't come crying to us if the power couplings burn out in combat and your ship gets hulled!").

'Nuff said.

But I'm not good, and I'm always on the run from everyone! I've pissed off all major crime lords, and am in trouble with the law.
P.S. It's a TIE. What does that stand for anyway? (other than meaning bow tie)

TIE: Twin Ion Engine.

It has two Ion Engines.

That's it.

But the TIE Fighter is a Short Range Craft... How can you run away in it???

Oh, and as for TIE Fighters having shields... Good luck. But there have been numerous comments about TIEs being retrofitted with shield generators by the New Republic as a stopgap... Small ones... Power Efficient Ones... *EXPENSIVE* ones.

This extra weight, however, makes the fighter more sluggish and less responcive on the controls, however.

1D of Shields, for 1D less of Maneuverability is how I put it to my GM, and he agreed with that assessment of an idea.

Oh, and you now no longer have space for the overnight bag sized Cargo Area.

A character of mine kind of got it from the Empire when he was "borrowing" a Corellian Corvette. Wink That ship became a highly modified personal ship. Good ol' "First Edition" rules. The character almost didn't make it though - he lost one leg completely and the half of the other one, along with other wounds.

Was it only 1 character stealing the Corvet? Isn't that ship too big to be a personal transport?

You can make it a one-man vessel...

You just need *ALOT* of droids. Laughing

They even did it with a Super Star Destroyer once in one of the novels... Stripped it of... Well... Everything except for an escape craft (A beat-up old Y-Wing).

Used it as a really big projectile. Twisted Evil

An expensive way to handle things, but effective nonetheless.

No, not by a long shot. There were several characters involved (PC and NPC). As for turning it into a "personal transport", Ray said it so well. Droids go a long way. Very Happy

Don't talk? All the Droids on the "Bob" talk!!!

Particularily that darn fussy waiter droid in the grand dining hall...

"No sir, please, use the utensils provied for the meal, not your fingers... No, please, don't drink from that glass, it's for fingers... NO BLASTERS NO BLASTERS!!!"

He's annoying, but knows how to set a feast worth of Luke Skywalker. (Literally... He had "Cream of Womprat Soup" for a taste of home.).

LOL! Well all my droids had their voices taken out by the regular technician (smart guy). Besides, I'd just give the droids to a Gammorean for fun, and let him smash it. I am a very old fasioned kind of guy, except for all the lasers and stuff like that, but I sometimes stay simple.

I loved to do this. My characters always have good perception, and therefore good sneak. I used to sneak into an impirial base with my friend as a decoy. I would break him out, and we would steal two TIEs. I would do that so often that I began to be a big problem for them, plus we would save money on starships, and repairs! Very fun...

Droids play a big part in my group. Mostly just to annoy the GM by giving him even *MORE* people to play at once. Laughing

But back to Tie Fighters. The best thing I can suggest for Ties is that you strip 'em.

With the racket you got going, it'd work nicely. You steal the Ties, take 'em to some high-tech chop shop in-system (A large freighter with *BIG* cargo doors would work perfectly!), and strip 'em for their Mil-Spec components.

Smugglers, Blockaid Runners, and Rebels would pay big credits for Sensor Gear, Light-Weight Armour Plating, Decent Laser Cannons, Targeting Computer Systems, Solar Pannels, and Communications Gear.

The only thing that would *REALLY* be telling that you'd sell to the Freighter Bums would be the Solar Pannels, and then they could always say "Sienar had a sale on 'em. I figured it'd be a good investment to save on fees in port, and good for emergencies. They aren't illegal, after all...".

The rest hide under the cases pretty well... Just leave the "Intel Inside" stickers on to fool the Customs Officials. Wink

You could do this with more than just Ties as well... Any high-end craft would do... Starfighters, being expensive and in high demand are best, however.

TIE Interceptors were outfitted with shield generators (2D) in the New Republic era under Thrawns reign. That's where I got the idea for "The Omega".

Sounds deadly, but my games almost alway take place after that time or before it... Usually Jedi or rebel games, so that time period wouldn't work.

Anyone using a TIE Interceptor could be using a shield upgraded one, remember that. In my campaign Thrawn hasn't come back yet. I plan to use "The Omega" til long after he's gone. Twisted Evil
