Do you mean as if Jocasta recorded Cliegg telling the story?

That's alright. Nothing wrong with wanting to make this as good as possible. I'm fiddling with the editing already, setting up the document, adjusting margins and sizes, trying to get this looking like WEG.

I would very much like for you to show me how to do the editing or at least explain it , I am completly ignorant when it comes to using photoshop or paint I have been trying with paint ( I don't own adobe photoshop yet), but not with much luck. Well here is the Sifo-Dyas story, I hope it sound good

Thanks
Cody

Tragedy of Sifo-Dyas

Sifo-Dyas was a Jedi Master from the planet of Esiken, who had the gift of foresight. He had predicted the coming war and knew the Republic would soon face dark times. Feeling that the Jedi were just as corrupt as the senate. He decided to skip the the jedi council and go straight to the Supreme Chancellor. Once he informed Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who in truth was the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, Palpitine then saw the opening he had been looking for. So he manipulated and duped Sifo-Dyas to secretly commission a clone army on Kamino, in order to defend the Republic from this terrible vision. Prior to this meeting, Count Dooku of Serenno, a close and personal friend of Sifo-Dyas, had left the Jedi Order and had fallen in league with Darth Sidious. He was told by the Sith Lord about Sifo-Dyas' actions, and Sidious also revealed that they could use the clone army for their own ends. As a final test of his allegiance to the dark side of the Force, Count Dooku was to murder his close friend Sifo-Dyas. So when the opportunity arrised Dooku murdered Sifo-Dyas in his sleep. Then took control of the project for himself. It was Sidious' true intention to use Sifo-Dyas only as a dead-end cover for Palpatine's order of a clone army. Sidious had just one more request for his new apprentice and that was to save the Lightsaber of the fallen Jedi Master and keep his body frozen, until the time came for Master Sifo-Dyas to fullfill one more favor for the Sith Lord. So when Obi-Wan Kenobi traveled to Kamino to investigate the source of the dart that silenced Padmé's attempted killer Zam Wesell, the Kaminoan prime minister Lama Su informed Obi Wan that Sifo-Dyas had ordered the creation of a clone army on Kamino at the request of the Senate, in order to help the Galactic Republic. The Jedi Council was not aware of the order until Kenobi informed them of it after he met with the Kaminoans.

Very nice, Cody.

Here's the beginnings of the book, so you can check how I intend to handle it:
http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0S0FF7EZR2W6N1F75I6JNZ0TIX

And as for teaching you how to edit, that's a little tricky to to over the web. I can answer any questions you have and give your some tips, but actual taching is kinda hard. By the way, I'm using Adobe's InDesign to edit the book.

That looks great, I just wanted to make sure you don't feel like you are having to do all the work, I have never done anything like this ever before. Thanks it looks Awesome. If you want I will work on Cliegs story, unless you have already started it.

Thanks
Cody

Me doing all the work? Look at all the texts you've been pumping out. Don't worry, I'll love editing this book.

Glad you likeed th book so far. As you probably saw, we need a small "opening crawl" text for the book.

Go ahead with the Cliegg story, you have my blessing. Wink

Why can't we use the opening crawl from the movie, were not selling it or anything so we shouldnt be crossing any illegal lines. On second thought we could use the one from the novel by R.A. Salavatore. I am reading it to brush up on the Clieg Lars story. So here is the begininning to the book. It's not as good as the movie, but it is diffrent.

Thanks
Cody

Episode II
Attack of the Clones

There is a great disturbance in the force
From the sleek ships of the glimmering Couruscant skyscape to the lush gardens of pastoral Naboo, dissent is rolling. The Republic is failing, even under the leadreship of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, elected ten years earlier to save the crumbling government. Separatist threaten war , and the senate is hoplessly divided, unable to determine wheather to raise an army for battle or keep the fragile peace. It is a stalemate that, once broken, could lead to galactic chaos.

This is my first Attempt at the Jocasta Nu thing I hope it sounds O.k.

Thanks
Cody

From the notes of Jocasta Nu, Jedi Archivist.
Upon interviewing young Skywalker, I realized that more happened on Tatooine than he had let on. So I traveled back to the Lars homestead on Tatooine to ascertain what actually happened, because whatever it was had truly left a lasting effect on young Skywalker. Upon reaching the Lars homestead, I was greeted by the younger Lars, Owen. Clieg, Owens father was fixing some damage to a moisture vaporator caused by sandstorm the night before. When I asked what he knew about young Skywalker and his purpose on Tatooine a month prior, needless to say I was shocked by his answer. Owen said with a deep sigh and hesitation “ It was to visit his mother” “an how did that go” I asked. “Not very well, one month prior Mom, I mean Shmi had been kidnapped by Tusken Raiders, while collecting mushrooms early that morning.” Realizing that I was beginning to see why young Skywalker was so reluctant to comment, I continued “ What happened after the Kidnapping.” “Dad organized the local farmers into a search party.” “What happened next ?” “We were ambushed” the voice was stern and came from the front door. As I turned to see Clieg Lars come through the door on his hoverchair. “They knew we would come, so they sat and waited” he said with great despair. “ I had just warned her the day before not to go alone, but Shmi never listened she went ever morning. So we headed out on speeder bikes, after a few minutes of riding we spotted the dust clouds coming from their Banthas. When we got within a few meters, I saw the trap, a wire cleverly strung across the field about head height to man riding a speeder. I saw ten of my friends die as they plowed head long into the wire. I dove out of the way just in time or so I thought, as I landed I felt a stab of pain come through leg into my thigh. As I lay there in pain I saw the very familiar leather wrappings of a Tusken and with all the rage and hate I could muster I reached out tripped him. When he fell I crawled on top of him and strangled him until he didn’t move. I then heard Owen yelling and as I started to rise, I fell hard my balance inexplicably gone. Confused I looked down expecting that another Tusken had tripped me. Then I realized that it was my body that had failed me, my leg was gone evidently severed by the wire. Out of the 30 farmers that went only four came back and all I could think of is how I failed Shmi. I had come to the conclusion that my love was dead and I would never see her again, then Anakin showed up. He was convinced that she still lived, I don’t know if it was that jedi stuff or just hope, but he set out after her on Owen’ s swoop bike. Next day around dinner he showed up with something wrapped in burlap on the back of the swoop, even though I had already convinced myself that she was dead seeing her like that brought it all back to me and I broke down. Later that same day we buried her.” As he turned his hoverchair and headed out the door. Owen and I followed Clieg for about several hundred feet where we stopped at a wooden cross with flowers laid at it’s base. Where we stood in silence for several minutes, until Clieg broke the silence “ The one thing I did not get to do was Thank him, for at least bringing us a little peace.” Well with that everything became clear young Skywalker was saddened by the loss of his mother.

That's nice, but I think you're missing a great opportunity to create a little bit of history here. I was thinking it would be nice to expand a bit on what Cliegg already told us in the movie, actually describe the rescue attempt, how he lost his leg, that kind of thing.

Some ideas for Cliegg's leg:

-Stomped by a Bantha (I like this one).
-Good ol' hack by a Gaffi Stick.
-Gnawed by a Massiff sentry.

Hey Gry,

"A Librarian’s Journey" is a good compilation for the events of Episode II. You approached the subject very well.

Will you present another's point of view, besides Jocasta's ?

When I get to work tonight, I will add info about the battle with Tuskens, that's a very good idea. Also Mr. Kroll we are going to use Jocasta Nu through the end of our Ep3 book where we plan to bring in Vorren Na'al.

Thanks
Cody

There might be some other stories told from other people's point of view sprinkled here and there, if it's necessary.

Thanks
Cody
