That last post was a joke.
It would take a lot of work to find, build, or otherwise duplicate the work of the phantom tie cloaking device. Most cloaking devices are very large.

there's one cloaking device in Tramp Freighters that isn't "that big" but it's pretty big... it takes up a crapload of cargo space... and then they've got one that costs i dunno... 750,000 (non-black market) that only takes up like 35 tons

It'd make one *KILLIER* Privateer Craft. My group used to run the "Far Orbit" campaign, but that soon tapered off when the GM made a few mistakes and we transformed it into the "Gods of the Universe" campaign (We started planning on assulting planets. WITHOUT any help!!!).

But, remove the Torpedo Launcher to free up weight... transform the cargo bay to Troop Securing Chairs, add a Universal Airlock... Possibly a Plasma Boarding Device... BOOM! You get an interceptor/boarding shuttle all in one!!! At less cost than the two apart, I believe.

Only problem... All your eggs are in one basket. And it isn't as effective in the atmosphere... It'd be a tough call... But one of the biggest problems we had were with Fighters, Troop Shuttles, and Freighters docking with the Nebulon-B Frigate.

yeah, saving a ship full of people i think would constitute for at least getting your force point back... although do you consider spending character points as sort of "calling on the force"?

Considering the ship's max space is 11, max maneuverability is 4D in space, max shields is 3D+1, and if the pilot is even close to Han, those TIEs don't have a chance. Unless they were Omega Squadron...
