|
|
My teen boy and his friends have asked for another Star Wars D6 campaign. For those who don't know, I run 1e with aspects of MiniSix - primarily fixed defenses - and using the Force from HyperspaceD6. I ran them through WotC's "Dawn of Defiance" last year using this mix, and it worked great for us.
The campaign will be set in 22BBY - immediately after the Jedi massacre at Geonosis. The players will all be padawans who have defected to the Separatists. They will choose why they defected (perhaps their master was killed on Geonosis and they blame the Jedi; perhaps they feel the attack on Geonosis was unwarranted aggression; perhaps they feel the Republic is corrupt; perhaps their home planet is a Separatist world and they have an attachment). They will be trained by Count Dooku, in both the light side and dark side of the Force.
The characters will be on missions to advance the Separatist cause - such as overthrowing legitimate rulers for Separatist rebels, disrupting Republic military operations, etc. Many missions will be morally dubious.
I will be using the fan made "Galaxy Guide 14:The Dark Side" for reference. Specifically, when a character fails their Dark Side points roll (when they gain a Dark Side point and make a D6 roll to avoid falling to the Dark Side) they will NOT become NPC's. Instead the characters will NOT gain Force Points unless they roll OVER their Dark Side score.
For example: A character does something heroic or timely, and would normally get a Force Point. A character who has 3 Dark Side points and has "Fallen" to the Dark Side will need to roll 4+ on a D6 to gain that Force Point. Conversely, once the character has 6 Dark Side Points they can only gain Force Points through Dark Side acts - cruelty, evil, suffering, etc.
The characters will progress through No Dark Side points and earning Force Points normally -> Earning a few Dark Side points but still earning Force Points normally -> Not regularly earning Force Points -> Not earning Force Points unless they commit Dark Side acts.
At some point after this, I will inform that player that they are totally corrupted, and feel they can overthow Dooku and lead the Separatist cause for themselves.
The campaign is not a "Dark Side" campaign, but rather a "Descent into the Dark Side" campaign. The players know that there is no "Happy Ending" to the campaign, and that it will eventually end in pain, suffering, and probably death. _________________ "The internet is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." - Sheev Zuckerberg |

Do their dark side totals still add to their Force dice once they fall? I'd assume they have to do increasingly bad actions to get more if so.
Something like killing a hostile enemy pragmatically instead of capturing them stops giving points after you hit 3, you have to start killing someone who is not openly hostile or unarmed to progress corruption further. |

Oh yes!!! They will get stronger in the Force (1D for every DS point), which is a great incentive to them to play with the Dark Side. And yes, after they have 6 DS points, they will have to do ever more evil things to earn Force Points. _________________ "The internet is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." - Sheev Zuckerberg |

I'm not going to NPC their characters, unless they start to balk at being Dark Siders and already have 6+ DSP. _________________ "The internet is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." - Sheev Zuckerberg |
