Threshold of Echoes
"A vergence glade of mirrored waters, hidden beyond time."

Hidden deep within a verdant, primeval glen on a forgotten world in the Unknown Regions, the Threshold of Echoes is a natural Force vergence manifesting as an ancient grove filled with shallow, perfectly still pools. Each pool reflects not just the sky, but moments in space and time—some long passed, others yet to come.

The grove exists outside of normal reality, nestled between the skeins of time and hyperspace. Its creation is lost to history, but its power endures.

Where the World Between Worlds is a dimensional construct, and the Watcher of Eternity is a sentient gateway, the Threshold of Echoes is nature’s vergence, intuitive and serene—yet just as dangerous.

Visual Description: The glen is filled with concentric mossy ridges, each basin holding a still, luminous pool. The trees above are enormous and unnaturally silent, their leaves unmoving even in wind. Each pool’s surface behaves like a window—sometimes showing vivid scenes from galactic history; other times, starfields or alien skies. Touching or stepping into a pool draws the traveler into the reflected time/place.

Accessing the Glade: Only those attuned to the Force (or guided by it) can perceive the path leading to the glade. Non-Force sensitives can physically enter, but may not be able to activate the pools without aid.

Using the Pools: Each pool is a natural portal to another time, world, or event. Entering a pool transports the traveler—and possibly their companions—into the chosen moment. Navigation requires emotional clarity; otherwise, a user may end up in a random or metaphorically significant time/place.

Risks: Disturbing history may provoke backlashes in the Force. Time loops, memory bleed, or echoing doubles may result from improper use. Some pools lead to realms that never were—visions, nightmares, or forgotten futures.

Force Mechanics: To activate a pool intentionally, a Force-sensitive must succeed at: Control (25+), Sense (30+), Alter (30+). +1D bonus if the user is emotionally connected to the moment/place. Failure may transport the character to the wrong place or time, trap them in an echo (illusory world) or awaken a Watcher Echo.

Narrative Themes: Temptation vs responsibility: Could you change the past? Should you? Loss and acceptance: Confrontation with loved ones long gone. Exploration of forgotten lore: Find the origin of lost temples, battles, or Force traditions.

Adventure Hooks:
A dark pool is activating on its own, threatening to merge a Sith-ruled timeline with the present.
The PCs must recover a lost child who wandered into the pools and is now lost across eras.
A villain seeks to weaponize the pools, using them to implant themselves across galactic history.

Again, I made it. If I post something converted from something else I typically put in the citation.

Interesting concept.

I am currently (on year 3) of an all force user campaign - so this is a cool concept to think about - as our game has a lot of force elements in it and a theme loosely related to the World within worlds - it is called "motions of the future"...

I like the idea of the pools - as the party is a point of inflection for different futures....

Side note: in our session zero, the players decided that only events in EP 4-6 were unchangeable, with 1-3 and clone wars being mostly canon, but with possible changes. So - the possible futures after episode 6 - are one of the elements of the campaign.

thanks for sharing.

The idea was to add something to the SWU in way that made sense, did not break anything, self-contained and open up the game in new directions. Let me tell you, not an easy thing to achieve. I am glad you are possibly be able to use this in your game. That's awesome!
