Whilst drafting the entry for the Ring of Kafrene for a certain project, it strikes me that this station is hugely underdeveloped in the canon materials available. It also strikes me that this could be a great location for people to use in their games. So I have been wrestling with whether I should try and flesh it out some more to make it great setting for others to pick up and run with, or leave it limited to what we know from on screen?
If I go with the former, is anyone interested in getting involved?

I was thinking like a community project with people contributing to the write up if people feel that expanding the entry would be a good idea.

It has most of it covered here. There are some other entries in other books that I have, but for a sense of what we know it is largely here.

I was actually thinking about using it as a place for my next adventure - but did not have a ton of info on it (ended up using "the wheel" as used in a previous campaign).
Overall - it seems pretty cool.
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Ring_of_Kafrene
After reading the history on Wookiepedia, it feels like there could be more history there - such multi-billion dollar stations are not usually built when there are no resources nearby.
the story on how that happened might be interesting (was it a con job, money laundering, or something else).
Now, granted - the various authors over the ages in our beloved franchise have not always been the most well thought out in things like oh...logistics, militaries, tech, manufacturing - well you know what I mean.
But still - could be an interesting story behind its construction. _________________ SW Fan, Gamer, Comic, Corporate nerd.

Background: The Ring of Kafrene, also referred to simply as Kafrene, was a mining colony and deep-space trading post in the Kafrene asteroid belt of the Thand sector. The Alliance to Restore the Republic sent intelligence agent Cassian Andor here before the outbreak of the Galactic Civil War. There, Andor learned of the existence of the Death Star.
The Ring of Kafrene was a monumental construction that served as a mining colony and a deep-space trading post. Its structures, made from durasteel and plastoid, were slung between a pair of malformed planetoids in the Kafrene asteroid belt. Areas like its aft docking bay were covered in lurid, phosphorescent graffiti. Roads led out from the docking bays towards the distant rock warrens of the planetoids, and the outpost itself was a labyrinthine sprawl of shacks, prefabricated housing, and countless maze-like corridors. Although there was some structure to the buildings around the main throughways, beyond these areas, the layout of the Ring changed almost daily; shacks were made of sheet metal, and shelters utilized housing units recycled from foreign colonies. Alien housing complexes and tenements featured ventilation shafts that sent wafts of ammonia into the streets. The Ring was a junction between the Corellian Trade Spine, which connected it to Coruscant and Anoat, and the Biox Detour, which connected it to the planets Takodana and Malastare. _________________ SWRPGGM - Star Wars REUP |

Thanks for sharing. That appears to be a large portion of the wookieepedia entry with some stats for the station if I am not mistaken?
Not sure if writing it as a capital scale starship is the way to go, I can see the appeal, but as written one lucky turbo laser shot could destroy it. I had been thinking more like a planet entry, has made me think a bit more about it. Thanks
