Here is my reasoning.
Survival is an unsung game balance hero in this RPG. When players are moving though hostile terrain (active volcano, hailstorm, tornados), Survival is rolled. Whenever there is no destructive/injurious intent by a GMC/NPC just random destruction/injury with no directed attack it's better to use Survival. This splits defensive Character Point expenditures between two diverse skills. I am very focused on slowing Character progression to the benefit of the long-term game.
