Cool thread... Thumbs Up

My campaign or head cannon is played as it it were the night of May 18, 1999 at 11:58 pm.

Essentially, in my campaign, it is eternally two minutes to "The Phantom Menace" and it never comes. I refer to it as "Truncationist" or "Truncationism".

I prefer the "Timeline" approach. Basically, the events that happened pre-Disney will occur assuming that the PCs don't act in a contrary manner. I've found that it provides the best combination of structure and freedom, which ultimately is what I've found is best for the game. PCs are notoriously selective about what they engage with, so anything that keeps the game moving forwards in extremely useful.

Makes me wonder, has anyone done a campaign JUST using the novels as a backing for history.

My present campaign is occurring around the beginning of "The Empire Strikes Back" but when we reach the New Republic I plan to use the novel material. My players have already been to the Rafa System (Lando Calrissian Adventures), and Mimban (Splinter of the Mind's Eye).
