Greetings members of the Rancor Pit!

On June 17th 2003, the Rancor Pit Forums were created, and the first public post was posted soon after. 20 years later, there are nearly 200,000 posts in over 8,000 threads and over 2,000 registered users.

This is to announce an official celebration of the Rancor Pit Forums 20th Anniversary next month. We will observe this in a special official anniversary thread which will be posted sometime on June 17th. We invite all users past and present to participate by saying hi and posting something about the Rancor Pit in this special "reunion" thread.

Participation in the anniversary celebration will enter you into drawings for up to three prizes awarded around June 23rd. Once winning a drawing, you will no longer be eligible for further drawings, to ensure that we have three separate winners. The three tentative ways to win are described below*:

(1) Everyone who posts in the special anniversary celebration thread within the defined time period gets entered into a drawing for a $20 gift card. You are welcome to reply to others and post multiple times in the thread, but there will be only one chance per person for this prize.

(2) Telling others about the celebration will give you more chances to win. If a participant posts that they heard about the celebration from another Rancor Pit user and post who they heard about it from in their entry in the celebration thread, each referring user that gets named in this respect results in that user being entered into a drawing for another $20 gift card, but this drawing gives a chance for each referral. This provides an incentive for you to reach out to other members, through any channel they may have any contact with them. If someone heard about it from multiple people, then we will ask them to name the first person that contacted them. You can start recruiting participation now, but it will be up to them to give you credit when the time comes.

(3) Longevity matters. There will be a another $20 gift card among those who post in the anniversary thread, but this one provides one chance for every 1000 posts the user has at the Rancor Pit.

The three drawings will be drawn in reverse order from above.

Prizes for winners in the USA will be awarded Amazon gift card balances that will be emailed to the email address in the user's Rancor Pit profile, so please make sure email addresses are valid in your profile.

To winners outside the USA, you will be awarded an emailed Amazon gift card valid in the country you live in, or other prize of similar value if that doesn't work out, such as a PayPal payment. The base prize value will be approximately $20 US, but please note that currency exchange fees may reduce the total end value of the prize.

An invalid address that cannot receive a digital gift card or transaction will disqualify you from winning any prizes.

What a great idea! Very generous of you to do this, and it creates some fun for the anniversary.

Surely there are more than 20,000 posts here. CRMcNeill and garhkal have around 30,000 just between the two of them!

Yes, you're right. It's almost 200,000 posts. I left out a 0. I did this at least once before here. Dyslexia is very annoying at times. Thank you!
