Great idea! |

I have a question regarding linked fire weapons (the page numbers are for first/second versions), I'm not sure if it is a mistake or I am misunderstanding the application.
p.137/135 states:
Quote: | Fire-linked weapons can be rigged to fire separately, but subtract damage, using the rules on combined fire. (Let's use the X-wing example. The four fire-linked laser cannons do 6D damage. The pilot decides to fire each cannon separately. Using the 'combined actions' rule, four characters working together get a bonus of +1D+2. That means subtract −1D+2 from each cannon's damage: the cannons individually do 4D+1 damage.) |
whereas p.86/84 (combined actions) states:
Quote: | If the command roll is successful, the combined action bonus is +1D for every three characters combining. Add a +1 for one 'extra' character and a +2 for two 'extra' characters. |
(I think that should probably be "every three 'extra' characters", but I suspect just saying 'one pip per additional character' would be clearer and sufficient then give an examples for the commander aiding and the commander not aiding - I think the example bonus might be for when the commander aids even thought the previous example stated he was only supervising, as 8 is 1+7 additional and thus only 2D+1 as a bonus)
So if there are 4 "characters" working together there is 1 who receives the bonus and 3 extra characters.
Therefore the bonus is +1D, not the +1D+2 that the fire-linked section states.
The X-wing's laser cannons should do 5D damage, not 4D+1.
Is this a correct ? |

page # 80, lower right, in the section labeled Actions That Take Time...
Quote: | Communicate: Relay plans or exchange complex ideas and information with other characters (more than a sentence or two). (communication skill or only roleplaying) |
That would normally be the language skill, not communications. And even then it would normally only be rolled if the speaker and/or recipient were not fluent in the language being spoken. _________________ *

|
|
I just noticed that an error that began in the 2e core book (1992) and was carried over to R&E (1996) has now made it through two editions of REUP and STILL defies correction!
page # 259, upper right, in the section labeled TIMEKEEPING AND THE CALENDAR
Quote: | There are 60 standard seconds in a standard hour, 24 standard hours in a standard day, five standard days in a standard week and seven standard weeks in a standard month. |
Even in the SWU, there are not only 60 seconds in an hour. Of course, the sentence should read:
Quote: | There are 60 standard seconds in a standard minute, 60 standard minutes in a standard hour, 24 standard hours in a standard day, five standard days in a standard week and seven standard weeks in a standard month. |
This error has perpetuated over 23 standard years! I think this justifies REUP Mk III. _________________ *

^ then again, if an issue defies correction for nearly a quarter century, maybe it's earned its place in the Rulebook.
...I kid, I kid.
Besides, based on the rules, it's not been 23 years but rather only 140 days. If there are, after all, 60 standard seconds in a standard hour. |

I was wondering if the compiled errata sheet was ever released. |

Welcome to the Pit, Azzy!
Unfortunately, the REUP team mysteriously abandoned the project many years ago, so it is what it is. |
Thank you. That's sad to hear, but like you said, it is what it is. |

Welcome to the Pit.
It was recently announced over on the SWD6 Discord that someone is doing a re-write of REUP and incorporating the various Errata. He posted a link the Google Drive where he has the latest version of the file: Link.
I don't have any information beyond that, but if you are on Discord, here is the Join Link to the SWD6 group. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I've collected all of the errata posted here and will incorporate it into the forthcoming refresh. Thank you all so much for taking the time to post this over the past 9 years... |
