Heck, human skin provides a similar, if less sensitive, effect. Like how you can feel the heat of a hot fire from dozens of feet away. I recall seeing a warehouse burn down from 50 or so yards away, and the heat was intense. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. And what were you doing 50 yards away from a burning warehouse?

Well, I was 5y/o at the time, so I’d say to ask my father why were in the area, but he is permanently unavailable on account of being dead for 20+ years. However, I do distinctly recall multiple fire trucks were on scene by the time we got there, so the actual event occurred long before we arrived. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Gotcha. I'm sure you just stopped to watch the spectacle.
Well into adulthood, I carried this vivd memory of there being a huge forest fire in the neighborhood I lived in when I was 3-4. At my mom and step-dad's house one time something the conversation sparked that memory and I asked Mom, "Remember that forest fire in our neighborhood when I was 3? It was at night and I remember watching it from the sidewalk by myself." My mom replied, "That never happened. Think about what you just said." And then I realized, why would I be outside by myself at night at that age? Since she had no memory of there even being a fire, I must have dreamed it. I can still remember watching the huge fire, from what seemed to be about 30-40 yards away.
I have no feeling of heat in my memory. Not even like the many bonfires I've been to. I imagine that feeling of a large fire would be very memorable. So unlike your memory, mine was only a dream. (Unless I astrally projected myself to somewhere else where there was a real fire.) _________________ *
