I feel we should take a moment to give thanks to Whill for helping shoulder the burden and responsibility of administering the site and keeping the Rancorpit forums alive. Here we are, 24 years after WEG published the last official book licensed for Star Wars D6 with this vast trove of exchanges and discussions, rules ideas, a library of fan made supplements, and other resources for a beloved game. It is a lot of hard work, and most of us cannot know how much work or effort is involved. It is not just a matter of keeping the website listed and working and making sure the DNS resolves, it's keeping the spammers out, and trying to keep the pit from falling into chaos, bickering, and war among users - and lets face it, we are all fans and we all have strong opinions and wont always agree with each other. I realize how fragile the Rancorpit could be as a resource and haven. Especially in these troubled and turbulent times when it seems all fandoms are besieged with fighting, chaos, judgement, and pushback related to attempts to force change, and conformance to standards from outside the community. Despite the occasional argument, misunderstanding, or flare up that does happen in the forums, it looks as if Rancorpit has not fallen to the same chaos of so many internet forums regarding events taking place involving all popular IP, fandoms, and geekdom. It is my hope that we can continue to discuss rules and ideas here without some of the problems appearing elsewhere in what is collectively known as Geek Culture, and especially in light of the state of Star Wars in recent years. I know it is not an easy job to run a website and moderate - to be the enforcer and arbiter - and it often makes more enemies than friends. That Whill has a love of Star Wars D6 is without a doubt, and that he is willing to undertake these risks and put this effort in to keep the rancorpit alive to share that love of D6 with others and insure it's resource stay open to us all is worthy of our thanks and gratitude. We may not all always agree with the moderations or effects but we should recognize the reasons for the effort. In these times there is far too much negativity in the world at large and the internet, and to look around and see what is happening in the fandoms across the internet and in numerous gaming communities, I think we should take a moment to be thankful and celebrate the good things we have. Rancorpit is here for us still. It has been here. When Loc Taal stepped down, the site was kept alive, and has continued due to the hard work and dedication to Star Wars, WEG Legacy, D6, and especially the Rancorpit that Whill has.

Two things I think (and hope) we can all agree on is we all love the D6 system. and we all love some aspect of Star Wars. That's why we are here.

Thank you Whill for keeping the Rancorpit open to us all.

and thirded....

(yeah, I know I am creating spam).

But seriously - I had no idea that after an almost 20 year break (2004 was our last game of d6) coming back to D6 there would still be an active community on it.

The pit is one of my best resources for the game and other players.

thanks whill!

(dude, need to buy you coffee or something).

I join in the thanks!

As Han Solo would say: "All of it. It's all true".

Rancor Pit, the people that work hard in it and that shares their ideas, love and passion for D6 and Star Wars in such a healthy and constructive way... worth its weight in gold!

Thank you for coming back to the Pit so actively. This thread is very much appreciated!

I'm not the best person for the job, but I'm the only one who applied for the position, which was going to be eliminated if I hadn't. It was a very simple matter of me not wanting a world without the Rancor Pit, so I did and still do what is necessary to keep it going. In the immortal words of Qui-Gon Jinn, "I shall do what I must, Obi-Wan."

You're welcome!

In 2004 the Rancor Pit was in its infancy. The prodigal son returns to SWD6. Welcome back.

I don't even drink coffee anymore (I'm a green tea man now), but I would make an exception and have a cup with you if I ever got the chance. Thank you and you're welcome.

I gave it a quick look, but haven't been able to really give it proper attention. My mind is very much still distracted with a lot of issues life just keeps throwing at me, so I have not really even been as active as I would like. I would love to give more time and also get back in to tabletop and role play but before that happens something has to radically change with my living situation. Right now I can not see through to the end of it yet. I will try to give it another look this week.

I am late to this post having recently returned from a Star Wars hiatus, but I did also want to take a moment to thank Whill for his hard work, dedication, and attention to detail to keep this site going and such a vibrant forum for discussion and ideas. Thanks!
