I have some question about this "thing" I like the concept GURI is awesome actually.
However what I wonder is a few things:
-What is the "chassis" of HRD? is this the internal "skeleton"
if skeleton is considered "chassis" what would armor upgrades do appreance wise etc, after all one of the main functions of the HRD is to repilcate a human down to a limited biologiacal level.
-sensory packs would these be possible to apply
-other skill packs such as language systems.
I short do I treat them as a droid with regards to upgades and skills etc, considering these to be "intergrated" when not spesifically mentioned to be exterior
or do I place the basic HRD "Template" with 2D flat to attributes and then make is as a reguar character, following the droid generation rules? |

Per the SotE novel, Guri's body is essentially human, although her muscles are not human standard (presumably, her skeletal and integumentary systems are augmented, as well). However, a sophisticated bio-scanner will pick up noticeable differences in temperature and tissue age. The only "droid" physical aspect of her is her brain. Any armor would have to be worn externally, just like any other human character. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. There is a complete writeup on Guri in "The Essential Guide to Droids" with a schematic of internal systems. If you are running an HRD, I highly recommend reading.
Modification of a HRD would require a biological plastic surgeon, and a droid tech. I would rule all modification rolls be made at two difficulty levels higher than normal.
As for armor, Guri can wear human armor and compensate for its mass over time until she learns to overcome the Dexterity penalties.

Considering how rare and advanced HRDs are, I would only use them as GMCs/NPCs. I would build them like a regular human player character but price them like a droid from "Cynabar's Fantastic Technology - Droids" but then multiply the price by x100 minimum. Prince Xizor would have purchased 100 of them if they were available so they should not be cheap. _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance

Maybe the tech to make them, itself is so rare, that even finding out that HRD's exist, is a quest in and of itself. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

In one campaign ...(can't remember which....too many over the years) I put in guri's creators as some npcs on the mission - it was obviously set long before shadows of the empire, during dark sun's early days.
One of the engineers on HRD's was an old background contact of one of the PC's so they crossed paths in a later adventure.
It introduced topics about why there are no human looking droids, roles of droids in society, ai rights etc.
I had looked up any available lore history on HRD's and went with that as inspiration for adventures.
Although - at this exact moment - I can't recall exactly how it fit into the overall campaign arc.
Personally - unless they were pretty much on par with humans - as a GM I would not allow a HRD player character - although playing one could have some interesting roleplaying opportunities, from an existential point of view. _________________ SW Fan, Gamer, Comic, Corporate nerd.
