Max damage values weren't listed for those weapons. I guess that means they have no max? So a Pacithhip wielding a Sat'skar with both hands could do up to 9D+2 damage?!?!?! w00t! 8) _________________ "Mind what you have learned. Save you it can." --Yoda

i doubt that they don't have a max just because it isn't written.
it's probably like the other weapons - 6D+2 or 7D |

Well, if it isn't there, it isn't there. I suppose it could be a misprint, but there are more than just the Coynite weapons that don't have maximum values. I think this is one of those cases where the GM has to make a decision about maximum damage values in general. If he wants to use them in his campaign, then he also has to decide what to do with all of the weapons that don't have a maximum damage value listed. _________________ "Mind what you have learned. yeah, only reason why i was wondering is because after a character get's like uber cybered up or something, they do uber damage... but if it's limited to something like 6D+2 then i'm not gonna bother using a melee weapon, i'll just stick to martial arts _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. you should stick to martial arts. it's an easier skill to upgrade and you don't have to have a weapon to use it and you get special moves. |

I remember reading in the main book (star wars 2nd revised and expanded) that melee weapons have a max of about 6D to 6D+2. Some weapons list a max that is higher, for obvious reasons. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

Perhaps the max is more of a how much damage the weapon itself can take. LIke perhaps a 7D max damage for every one DIe over max is a chance to destory weapon..(brake it) so 8D ..if I roll a one..the weapon shatters..?? |

that's an interesting concept... breaking points
a 1 on your damage roll or a 1 on your attack roll _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

That's always what I assumed too. The weapon could only deliver so much damage before it had (or the risk of) stress damage done to it. |

martial arts seems a lot more promising than any melee weapon right now as long as you've got a beefy strength _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

Coynites are a race. Sadly this thread links to resources which are no longer hosted on the Rancor Pit. I suggest you check them out in Gry's stat books. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.
