No relax this is not a trekking post in any way.
Basically I was thinking, or rather asking if ther eis eny presidence for uing tractor beams on people.
I know in the vader comic where is killed some monster and by liberated a planet, he was "beamed up" though he was at the time staning on the werckage of his TIE which was alo pulled up.
But could a tractobeam be tuned, or in any way used to "tractor" organic material.
basically like the beam me up scotty sort of thing |

Isn't that how rescue ships pick up pilots that go EVA? use small scale tractor beams to pull them into a cargo hold/air lock?? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I would think so, but I have been looking everywhere for any such tech or stat write up.
but yeah, the Wookiepedia section on space rescue corps do describe that there is such a device used in rescue, which is in parts the reason I am wondering, as I am doing a space rescue thing |

Perhaps, the Squib tensor rifle, could be used as a basis. Just upped in size (say speeder power output). _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I'd be inclined to just make something like that a Character or Speeder-scale tractor beam, if mounted on a ship. Say, Speeder Scale, 2D Strength, and 2D Fire Control. It can hit a Character-Scale target without much problem, and its easy to pull them in with a 4D Strength, unless they can find something big to hold on to and are strong enough. It would also be big enough to manipulate some wreckage or escape pods but, mounted on a Starfighter scale ship, it would be about as much as someone getting out to push. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. I'd probably say 4d speeder scale damage, 2d fire control.. That way it can still pull in escape pods from fellow fighters. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I'd also consider range, and perhaps a strength drop-off at greater range... a 2D at max, a 4D at close? _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

That could work.. Though in space most ranges are put as "SU's (space units). So how would that work in 'meters'? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Space units for weapon ranges are "translated" to atmosphere ranges with 1:100
meaning a wapon 1-3 space range will have 100-300(meter) atmosphere range, it could be made a capsule that such a "man tractor beam" or a personnel rescue beam uses atmoshere ranges in space? |

The space unit to meters ratio you referred to is the atmosphere range of space weapons. I would probably only use that formula if the beam was starfighter scale. If it is speeder scale, it may be less. Tractoring a character with a speeder scale beam is already going to have a harder difficulty to hit, so the beam operator shouldn't be too far off. _________________ *

Long is SU 1. Shorter ranges are in meters, making more careful manuevering useful. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"
