It is definitely worth it. Fun, like all the Lego Star Wars stuff, and a bit silly and semi-satirical. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

The animated Lego Holiday Special far better than the 1978 live action Holiday Special, even with zany 'Bill & Ted' style time travel involved. _________________ *

The old Holliday special is without a doubt much more "true" to star wars than some more recent additions to the franchise IMO. |

The animated Lego Holiday Special is still better though. |
The LEGO Star Wars cartoons are surprisingly well done. |

If you have not seen the original Star Wars Holiday Special you can not truly understand how those of us who lived and loved Star Wars in the 70's were tortured and traumatized for our love... It was what I saw when I entered the cave on Dagobah...and it will forever haunt me. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

I only saw the original Star Wars once in the 70s, but I did have the storybook that I read several times and kept the movie alive in my mind. I didn't have that for the Holiday Special, but I wouldn't have wanted it if I did. I remember not caring for the Holiday Special while I was watching it, but it was too forgettable to be that traumatizing. Until I watched it again a few years ago, I had almost completely forgotten it.
Watching it now though, now that is traumatizing. _________________ *

I saw it live, in 1978. Even as a 9 year old, it sucked. _________________ "The internet is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." - Sheev Zuckerberg |

I would rather read the Dark Empire comics (which I still haven't) than try watching this. _________________ "Adventure? Eh... Excitement? Eh... A Jedi does not crave these things."

Dark Empire has a couple neat ideas, but you really aren't missing much. It's poorly written and rather silly, with horrible artwork. But after seeing TRoS, I have to say I do have a slightly better appreciation of DE. _________________ *
