So, tomorrow is the drop date.
Who's in for Rancor Squadron? |

Well, the memory of my son's Xbox One is full. He already had to delete some stuff to make room for the couple other versions of Battlefront we got. He doesn't want to delete anything else, so he has decided to hold off on Squadrons until he gets the new X-series Xbox when it comes out (he will ask for it for Christmas). So he may get Squadrons for Christmas with it or use some Christmas money to get it. And we are not sure when we are going to get online with the Xbox but it will probably be around that time.
So please feel free to start Rancor Squadron without us, but hopefully we can join in at a later date, or start a second squadron if not. _________________ *

I won't be getting it release day myself, having been bitten on the hoop by EA too often.
But, if things look good, we'll see. I'm REALLY hoping that the cross play system works. |

*Sighs* I'm a weak and lonely man. I got the game.
So, yeah, hope to see folks however we can figure out how to get all the crossplay services to recognize us as "Friends". |

Just stumbled across the Auxiliary Components list for ships in Squadrons. Some interesting ideas here... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Same. A lot of stuff parallels things either already in the RAW or things I've already done, but there are some other interesting twists there. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. In particular, the Supply Droid. I've been looking at Limpets from Elite: Dangerous that perform various EVA tasks, which would transfer very nicely over to Star Wars. A droid equipped with thrusters and cargo transport / transfer systems would be very handy for things like in-flight replenishment, salvage, etc. I'm not sure how well it'd work mid-battle, but the idea is there. The Tactical Shield would work on a similar concept, though; a droid that's basically a flying shield generator, forms up with another starfighter and provides a short-lived boost to that fighter's shield dice. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Wedge is still Wedge, Hera Syndulla and Chopper are apparently around (which isn't surprising as The Ghost is right beside the Millennium Falcon in Rise Of Skywalker).
The major thing I worry about is Multiplayer. Is it going to be like most Multiplayers where I spawn in, get shot dead, spawn in again, dead, lather, rinse, repeat?
I want Rancor Squadron, damnit! We can even get TIE craft with Rancors painted on the hulls! |

Oh, and I dread to know how many 8-year olds have apparently had sexual relations with my mother.
I'm going to tell them they're necrophiliacs because she's dead if they do, BTW. She isn't, but it'll make me feel better. |

I have been playing the campaign but haven't braved the multiplayer yet.

I read a review and the author indicated that the servers that they'd been getting on were all pretty welcoming and friendly.
He was in Australia, and all his teammates were Australian, so your servers may be based on locality, and your experience may vary based on your corner of the internet. _________________ __________________________________

Just finished the single-player mode. I'd feel confident about going online, except that, 1: The Servers are probably in the US. And 2: Even in Canada the servers are probably filled with potty-mouthed kids that have all apparently had sexual relations with my mother.
There's a reason I want to get a Posse of decent folks, especially ones that I'd wanted to game with for decades at this point. |
