Both to me, would have ties in to using communications. |
Numerology isn't mathematics or science (not all -ology words are science or math related). Numerology deals with the occult significance of numbers. It involves things like converting your name to a single digit that represents a mystical category, kinda like an astrological sign. Stuff like that. There is very little math involved in numerology other than some very basic arithmetic. This wouldn't help with codebreaking unless the code maker was into numerology, which sounds like something a Dan Brown villain would do.
I think you mean Number Theory, which is a branch of mathematics primarily devoted to the study of all whole numbers (integers) or specifically non-negative whole numbers (natural numbers). Number Theory and other branches of mathematics could definitely be applicable to codebreaking.
I took a Number Theory class in pursuit of my math degree, and I've also have studied the occult including a bit of Numerology, so I happen to be familiar with both. _________________ *

One of my buddies took a numerology course.. That's what he said it was.. Not anything to do with the occult. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
