Questions on options for setting up a game

I'm curious what happens if I were to GM a game here? What abilities would I get to have? Would I be able to edit posts of othe players? Would I be able to close threads? Would I be able to store inormation privately? (Like stats, battle damage?)
Where is the dice roller used here, and how does it track player rolls? Is it the honor system?

Currently, I'm the only GM running a game here. I'll speak to Loc about setting up a forum for you. You'll be made the moderator and that allows you control over your forum and all threads within it. You won't be able to ban anybody or anything though, of course, it's not like I'd ever want to! My guys are great! (Was that butter too thick there?) Very Happy

I don't think banning would be any issue. I'm sure if anyone were being a jerk, then admin would be taking care of them anyway.

I'm more concerned with having things like a thread that can only be accessed by myself, so that I could store information without others seeing.

You can hope the playeras are honest and let them roll, OR you can make the rolls forthe players.

This site has a cool dice roller, if you are looking for one.

Yeah, the roller on the home page for this site is great! Just plug in the Ds and pips and hit "Roll Dice." Couldn't be simpler.

What's the purpose of having a thread only you can access to store information? If no one else can see it, then it might as well just be a folder in your hard-disk....

And I'd like to reinforce my opinion that each game should have its own forum inside the PbP section. Uh?

The purpose would be so that no matter where I was, friend's house, travelling, using a secondary computer in my house, etc, the information would always be available.

Or use a floppy disk, or pen-drive. Depending upon budget and amount of info, a little things worth of hand-held data would also work for travel.

The Rancor Pit does have it's own dice roller that automatically rolls the wild die for you and lets you add in the pips before you roll. It's under the utilities on the site's homepage. Also, check with Jamfke on what he's using.
