Absolutely. My only suggestion would be to avoid using parts from known “modern” starfighters. IIRC, there’s a Random Ugly Generation chart out there somewhere that includes parts from Advanced Prototype TIEs like the Defender and Avenger. I strongly suggest concentrating on the older craft from the prequels and Clone Wars. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Yeah, that's what gave me the idea. I was thinking Rebellion-Era and earlier fighters. |

Imagine what junkers and illegal salvagers could put together from Clone Wars era fighters. Cobbling together bits of damaged fighters from both Separatists and Republic could make for some interesting second-hand units for pirates, private security forces, and under-the-table mercenary units. _________________ __________________________________

One of the most common Uglies to be made during the Rise Of The Empire, the CloakHunter took the body and nose of a Z-95 Headhunter and the wings, engine, and rear wing upgrade from a CloakShape Fighter, and created... An abomination that barely held together by it's weak welds and spacetape. Often suffering from reduced capabilities due to unstable power supply and/or semi-shorted out power distribution system. Despite that, they are seen often in the dregs of pirate starfighter squadrons before the Rise of the Rebel Alliance, with some pirate groups switching out the concussion missile launcher for an ion cannon, but if done so both weapon systems cannot be fired at the same time without risking the power distribution system and power converters bursting into flames.
All attempts at getting this craft through Hyperspace on a Hyperdrive Sled or Ring has resulted in pilots and ships never being seen again, so they are more often used as Parasite Ships connected via a docking port on a freighter or a space skiff, or from an improvised hanger bay of a Medium or Heavy Freighter's cargo bay.

Having the body and cockpit of a Toscan Q-6 Fighter mated to the far more powerful Y-Wing Engines and powerplant, the TinY-Wing Fighter is a dedicated Ion Cannon craft designed to incapacitate targets of pirates and privateers of the lowest order. Most of the "superfluous" systems are stripped out of the Ugly, such as the Hyperdrive, in order to lighten the craft to make it faster than a typical Toscan or Y-Wing, but at the reduction of maneuverability as the flight adjustment systems aren't nearly able to cope with the increased thrust of the ship. Astromechs have been known to outright demand memory wipes after flying in these vessels for too long, which is typically only once.

The HeadTorrent is an Ugly developed from debris from Clone Wars space battlesites, combining the two typical "escort" starfighters from the Republic side of combat, the Z-95 Clone Variant of the Z-95 Headhunter and the V-19 Torrent Assault Starfighter. A pure spaceborn starfighter, the rotating fin on the ventral part of the hull can no longer "flip" upwards for landing, requiring the craft to be used as a "parasite" starfighter, using a docking port on a freighter or other type of capital ship for even the pilot to get out and stretch. It continues its role as an escort fighter, rarely being used for piracy, but rather more often used by smugglers to protect against pirates, or patrolling in space or the air during meets as an additional "incentive" to make sure that the deal goes down properly.
It is quite a nimble craft (especially for an Ugly), and often has the shield unit of either the Headhunter or Torrent side of the craft intact giving it better protection than most Uglies. There is some difficulty in finding pilots for the ship, because the Clonepilots were all roughly the same size, the cockpit cannot be easily adjusted for different heights, lengths of limbs, and so forth. However, due to the abuse the Empire heaped on the Clonetroopers from all walks of life, there are more than enough Clonepilots willing to go rogue in some manner and take up a life of crime after seeing all their good deeds and honour spit upon.
For the better equipped crews, or ones that can't get their hands on a Clonepilot or someone who has the same height and weight, any of the other varieties of Z-95 Headhunter can be replaced, with a negligible difference in performance.

Built using the body of a Z-95 Headhunter and the engines, weapon hardpoints, and wings of a Scyk light multirole fighter. This made the craft more comfortable for pilots, while the ability to switch out weapons gives mercenaries, pirates, and other ne'er do wells a versatility rarely seen in Uglies. The Concussion Missile Launcher found in the body of the Z-95 is almost always removed to keep the craft lightweight and nimble, or has an additional power generator or shield generator built into the slot for more powerful weapons or defense, but this robs the craft of nearly all its maneuverability. Alternatively, the launcher can be retained, which is an option for pirates that are able to get their hands on ion warheads, but this also kills the crafts ability to maneuver.
The stock blaster cannons on the Scyk's wings are often modified for rapid fire, firing in bursts of five, at the risk of burning out the blasters, frying the power distribution network, or sending the power core into emergency shutdown (or just outright explode.). Rebel Alliance Privateers that use these ships often step down the damage capabilities of the blaster cannons when modified in this way, comforted in the knowledge that the targets they typical attack are only defended by TIE fighters, sometimes downgraded TIE fighters like the Mining Guild's TIE/mg fighters.

A rare craft, due to the GAR's tendency to scoop up ARC-170 wreckage before leaving battlefields if possible, is often used by pirates as a heavy punch against customs, militia, and planetary starfighter squadrons while escorting ion cannon equipped ships of other makes and models. This Ugly is made from the cockpit and body of a V-19 Torrent fighter and the wings and engines of an ARC-170, also retaining or repairing and replacing the rear turret to provide superior escort and dogfighting capabilities. Tougher than they look, these craft have a nasty reputation among law enforcement fighter pilots and custom ships crew.

Have you considered running these combos through the Ugly Generator to get an image, then including the image with the stats? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Going to start working with fighters that aren't in the Generator, however.
But, question, how are things looking? The generator helps with the stats, but I am adjusting them to make better sense. |

2) Once you are on the page with the Ugly's Stats, Right-Click on the image, the select Save Image As, which will allow you to save it to your hard drive.
3) Go to your image hosting platform of choice (I prefer to use Postimage.org, but YMMV), then follow their steps to upload an image. If given a list of options, find one that ends in .jpg or .png.
4) Copy/Paste the link into the following BB Code: [ img][/img ] (Remove the spaces, or just use the IMG button in the Control Bar above the message box for posting on the Pit. It should come out something like this:
I can't speak for the others, but Postimage will give you the option on their home page to resize images. For example, this is what the above image looks like resized to 320x240:

Which ones do you have in mind? The Generator seems to be pretty comprehensive.
Quote: | But, question, how are things looking? |
The formatting makes it a little harder for me to read, but it looks good so far. If you're interested, here's the template I pre-made to insert Bold / Underline / Italic options into the text to help differentiate things. Shootingwomprats has another version on the same link, just a few posts down.
Quote: | The generator helps with the stats, but I am adjusting them to make better sense. |
The adjustment is appropriate; I noticed at least one stat where the rating was ridiculously high for a ship of this size (5 months Consumables where fighters normally have just a few days). _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
