These were all made for my D6 Star Wars games many years ago.
(Edit) The first posts are now edited for pic' size (I had no idea re: limits) and also to put better information in with the pictures.
When I made these, more than two decades ago, I never worried too much about fancy paint-jobs, as I was painting to deadlines for specific scenarios in my campaigns. Some are literally just sprayed grey, thus almost like 'counters' rather than models, especially if I knew they were likely to be used only once. I only bothered weathering (etc) if a model was used regularly, or if I liked the end result and thought it was worth it. Some are quite precariously thrown together, and thus very delicate!!!
[1.] Civilian Space Yacht.
Modelling notes:
This kit-bash's body is made from a Space 1999 Hawk model, and the wings are from a Nasa Space Shuttle model.
Campaign Background:
This yacht was used by Imperial aligned politicians and ambassadors. Poorly armed, but that didn't matter as it would be escorted by hyperspace capable fighters if necessary.

Very cool.
Is there a little Space Shuttle in there? I don't recognize the other parts.
Do we have stats for this yacht? _________________ __________________________________

Wow! Yes, the wings are from a space shuttle model. You got it, Cheshire! (Edit: I have now put this information in the first post.)
The other half of the answer is more difficult I think, but some sci-fi fans of a certain age will get it. (Edit: I have now put the answer in the first post.)
There are stats in some ancient computer file, and hardcopy somewhere in the attic. I'll check old files first. BTW, I was notoriously amateurish at coming up with stats.
(Edit: I have now put the stats in the first post.)

[2] Archaic Fighter.
Modelling notes:
This was made from the side rockets of a Space 1999 Hawk spaceship (the same model as the body of the yacht above), attached to a plastic kit 'manga style' fighting robot's torso!

This is an 'older model' fighter, inferior to X-Wings and Tie Fighters, used by some backwater worlds in their meagre planetary defence patrols.

(edit) This was originally where the stats for the above went. Sorry, but I cannot delete, only explain!

Does the forum automatically re-format embedded images to 'click URL for image' after 12 hours or something?
Checked other threads and it doesn't seem to have happened.
Are my images too big? Have I broken some rule?
Confused?
(Edit) I now know what was going on with the pics. I stupidly read the FAQ looking for answers, not the Forum Rules, where I would have found them!

[3.] (Really) Tramp Freighter
Modelling notes:
This is made mainly from a toy walkie talkie and a toy microscope (you can probably guess which bit is which). Plus various bits of kits and what not.
Campaign Background:
This tramp freighter is ancient, and thus very cheap. My players thought it was a rusty tub and cursed the day the Rebel Alliance arranged for them to capture it to be used as cover! It did, however, fail to get noticed pirates, and any military tended to not take it as a serious threat. It not only broke often, it broke many safety regulations (etc) in several starports.
Stats:
Craft: Misco WK 1 (Bac Lor Fleet Supply Freighter)
Type: Light Freighter
Scale: Starfighter
Length: 32 meters [Height 17 meters]
Skill: Space Transports (Misco WK 1)
Crew: 2 (coordinate), plus gunner
Passengers: 6
Cargo Capacity: 150 metric tons
Consumables: 4 months
Cost: -
Hyper’ Multipl: x3
Hyper’ Backup: x16
Nav’ Comp’: Yes
Maneuv’: 0D
Space: 3
Atmosphere: 200; 600Kmh
Hull: 3D+1
Shields: 1D
Sensors:
Passive 10/0D
Scanners 25/1D
Search 40/2D
Focus 2/3D
Weapons:
One Double Laser Cannon
Fire Arc: Turret (front, left, right)
Crew: 1
Skill: Starship Gunnery
Fire Control: 1D+2
Space Range: 1 3/12/25
Atmosphere Range: 100 300m/1.2Km/2.5Km
Damage: 4D

Oh wow. Now this looks like something that could have come from a Tales of the Jedi comic! _________________ __________________________________

I am glad you like it. It's the sort of thing that can try to attack a PC team's really basic freighter and still give the PC's an easy chance!
Here's an image of a part built Space 1999 Hawk so you can see where various parts for the above two models came from. I see now that I inverted the Hawk's body for the yacht.

I know Cheshire is keeping this going, but I'll do another one to see if I can stir up any more interest!!!
[4.] Large Utility Crawler
Modelling Notes:
This was made from a large scale tank model kit, with bits added especially the extended front cockpit. The pad was made from one of the interior plastic wheels of a VHS cassette (which helps age its construction!) The pad is removable, with a mind to modelling some other equipment to stick on the top for a different scenario!
Campaign Background:
This has various uses, usually on desert worlds, according to its configuration - mainly what is attached to the top. It could be a crane, an ion cannon, even a cage for a large beast? In this case, it has a special pad for recovered (probably plundered?) repulsor vehicles to allow transportation whilst non-functional.
Stats:
Vehicle: EXTRA HEAVY INDUSTRIAL UTILITY CRAWLER
Craft: Pernic Industries EH Crawler (Mk5, version 2)
Type: Extra Heavy Sand Crawler
Scale: Walker
Length: 34m
Skill: Heavy Crawler Operations.
Crew: 3:4 (4 support = for various optional equipment)
Passengers: Up to 40 (if modified accordingly)[i]
Cargo Capacity: Up to 40 metric tons
Cover: 1/2, 3/4 or full [i](according to crew position)
Cost: - (new); - (used)
Maneuverability: 0
Move: 15; 48Kmh
Body Strength: 3D
Shields: None
Equipment: Tractor Platform. This is a MK5 ‘standard’ version 2, configured to carry a tractor platform. When activated, the platform firmly holds the carried cargo or vehicle in position - a ‘glue effect’ for transport over rough terrain. Personnel are not advised to walk on the platform when activated for health reasons.
Extra Information:
To give an idea of scale, here it is crewed by three 15mm Laserburn 'Red Redemptionists' (aka Sand People / Tusken Raiders) and with a speeder on the pad (I'll be putting the speeder itself up later!)
Note: I have to admit this is up in the top ten of my Star Wars kit-bashes.

These are really great models, StarPadre
They remind me of the 'Eavy Metal' segments in early White Dwarf magazines (Games Workshop), especially the awesome tank.
Also, thumbs up for Space 1999 reference |

Thanks Cheshire and Xain Arke for your comments.
Thanks Whill for guiding me re: images. Things have changed since I was last here!
All the above posts have been edited so that there are pictures, modelling notes, Campaign Background and Stats! I will try to use this format for the others. There are quite a few to come if, of course, you want to see them! |
