I am curious about Moff Guideon.
We saw him cut his way out of the TIE wreck with the darksaber, so it made me think could he be force sensitive, mildly since we didn't see him use any powers, and his interest in the little cute green one with the big ears |

Me too, but I fear he is a Sith Eternal Cult member and his interest in The Child is just to harvest his midi-chlorians for Palpatine's clone body transfer or the creation of Snoke. _________________ *

Is it too much to ask that we get the Secret Order of the Emperor name-checked? _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Ideally, we will never explicitly find out why Gideon wants The Child. Mystique is one of Star Wars' greatest strengths. |

I'm firmly in that camp. I don't particularly like when something is explained for me if the narrative works with a bit of mystery. _________________ __________________________________
Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind. |

Yes. (j/k)

I'm quite alright with that for the narrative along the way, but I expect the mysteries to be solved by the final episode of the series. I feel it is anticlimactic to never have mysteries solved. There really isn't any point to having mysteries in the first place that are never solved. But perhaps I am just too traumatized by the finale(s) to X-Files and all the plot holes Abrams left open in the DT.
Then again, having dumb solutions may possibly be worse than no solutions. So there are more ways it can go wrong than go right. No, we do not know why Gideon wants The Child, but they have already revealed that this show will deal with the resurrection of Palpatine and the rise of the First Order in some way. It probably won't matter to me why Gideon wants The Child because I may not even be watching it by the final episode. I really wish the show would leave DT and TCW continuity out of it and just do it's own thing. It doesn't have to be so tied in to other Star Wars to be good. _________________ *

I'm hoping they surprise us by having him pull double duty portraying Boba AND Rex, especially given Ahsoka's appearance in s2. I like Boba, but if I had to pick, I'd rather see Rex at this point. _________________ Obligatory postscript: It's your game; you do you. |

That's looking more likely now that Bo Katan has been cast for s2 as well... _________________ Obligatory postscript: It's your game; you do you. |

This week we finished watching the Mandalorian Gallery series of documentaries. They were pretty interesting. If you liked the show, I recommend them.
Although it doesn't have much to do with The Mandalorian, I have a new respect for Dave Filoni from watching these. He really has a good grasp on Lucas' film saga. I'd really love to talk to him about how everything he said about films relates to the anti-film elements of TCW. Maybe he could be the one to get me to drink the kool aid? _________________ *

So it has been officially announced today that The Mandalorian returns with new episodes on Disney+ starting October 30st.
Rumor has it that there will soon be a promo video of a Clone Wars character that is not plot revealing (the scene to be depicted is not from footage of the show).
In other news, it was recently my son's 11th birthday and the "party" was completely Mandalorian themed. He even got a to-scale The Child that babbles and plays the Mandalorian main theme. Fun. _________________ *
