This thread will chronicle the adventures of my little band of misfits.
I've now received the last background, and I'm still laughing, both for the backgrounds and for what I can do with them, and to the players! Very Happy

Campaign premises
Year: 10 BBY, the Empire is stretching out, the dark times are in full swing, and the Outer Rim is an even hotter bed of intrigues and opportunities since now the Empire is starting to cast it's shadow there, creating problems and stirring old feuds.

The ship:
The "Starry Eyes" is an old, very old Barloz Medium Freighter, completely stock. Buyed from the junkya... ehr from a used starship dealer by Bystran (one the players) for a paltry sum. The price for the refit instead was very high and with many strings attached.

The Players:
Bystran Steveus, Spoiled Dilettante, Human Adarlonian. Disenfranchised heir of the Steveus Entertainment, he owes is own father nearly a million credits of gambling and dissolute lifestyle. Buyed the ship before his father had the time to freeze Bystran access to the estate assets. Nearly crash landed on Travnin (tried to fly the ship not having any skill about it and without refitting it) and had to raise a big loan to refit and restock the ship.
Is searching a crew to share the costs of operation and to raise some creds with.

Vorkots Dravo, Bounty Hunter, Human Mandalorian. Hunted by Viszla and Krywze clans, because he had bedded the daughter of Krywze clan leader, who was bethroted to a renowed warrior of the Viszla. Escaped stealing the ship of the enraged warrior and faked is own death by crashing the ship in an asteroid and silently escaping via silent running the escape pod.
Ended up on Travnin in search of opportunities to earn creds and to put as much space he can between him and the angry clans.

Ricky Jr Timmons II, Brash Pilot, Human Adarlonian. Son of Ricky "Rocky" Timmons, declined Adarlonian holostar singer, who fade from stardom because of the Empire heavy handed propaganda machine, who deprecated the free spirited musical styles of wich Ricky Rocky was a major player.
Living the family decline and taking it very bad, Ricky Jr rebelled and started working for various tramp captains, learning the trade and becoming more and more disgusted by the Empire.
After a big incident who claimed the lives of the passengers of the last ship he was on, he was grounded by the captain on Travnin (incident covered up by the captain since the passengers where slavers and weapon smugglers) and is now searching a ship to pilot.

K4-XX0, KX-series security droid. reprogrammed imperial droid, former dignitary escort, now Ricky Jr companion. More infos to be defined.

So, this is it for now, tell me what you think!

The first adventure will be the same one of the Minos capaign, but I will send the players to Jilsaria instead of Gesaril, because it's odd that there could be pirates in a restricted system with constant Imperial presence.

Also the cargo will not be delivered to the Rebellion (since at this point in time do not exist yet as an organization), but to a freedom fighters group based on Regellia, whose objective is to destroy the corporation grip on Mestra, and is rebuilding Old Republic and Trade Federation ships using hulks and junks they buy from the Squibs, to use them as a "pirate fleet" and eliminate the corporate forces.

Tor Skylow pirates are working with them to move goods and to stole credits and resources from Empire aligned traders.

Young Nozzo Naytaan will become a recurring ally of the players, to create long term ties to the still non existant Rebellion (yes, I'm taking the long view here, even if i Know that the events will very probably be derailed by my players! Very Happy)

Aaaand, the first session was a big success!

The game started with all the PCs being in, or near, Bay 12 of Travnin spaceport.
Ricky and K4 searching for the starship owner said to be recruitign a crew, Vorkots passing through while going toward the city connection monorail, Bystran being there trying to convince the service droids to paint the ship in golden hues.
The team starts make acquaintance when suddendly explosions rock the spaceport, caused by a pirate attack sent by the Nightsisters, a pirate group controlled by three women said to be extremely violent and vindicative.

The goup take refuge inside the ship, while a band of 12 pirates led by a crazied thermal detonator wielding sullustan swarm inside the bay, screaming for loot and some misterious coordinates.

Hilarity ensues:
Ricky try to close the loading ramp, rewarded by groaning sounds and jamming hydraulics, with the ramp stuck two third of the way up.
K4 starts forcing the hydraulics in position trying to fix the problem.
Vorkots spots a trio of pirates sneaking around the undercarriage, and remove the threat with a perfectly placed thermal detonator, painting the underside of the ship with pirate gore and rupturing a secondary avionics pressure line.
Bystran scream in fear and start spraying and praying with the blaster, forcing a couple of pirates behind cover.
The pirates retaliate with a blaster fire fusillade, forcing the team to duck inside the ship.

Ricky run to the cockpit, and remain stuck inside the turbolift that stop between decks with strange whirring noises.
K4 continue forcing the pistons in place, letting the ramp inching close a little more.
Vorkots spot a heavy blaster rifle emerging from behind some crates and obliterate the blaster and the arm wielding it with a perfectly placed shot.
Bystran shoot a fuel canister at random, luck is by is side and the roaring blast and flames force two pirates out of hiding, one covered in burning fuel and second rolling around in desperation, the fireball damaging the ship fuel intake port.
the remaining pirates split up, one circling toward the rear, one going on the top service scaffolding, the sullustan bomber arming and preparing to throw the detonator.

K4 esasperated by the situation aim at the thermal detonator wielding sullustan and blast the detonator, disintegrating the sullustan, spare parts, the clamp control and a couple of sensor ports in front of the ship.
Vorkots remark with "no disintegration! at least not the port facilities!" and run up inside to reach the laser cannon saying "I have a rat infestion top side to hose away". The second turbolift works well for a change.
Ricky manage to unstuck himself from the turbolift, a split second before the lift slam back down, missing is foot by mere centimeters; running to the cockpit he's aghast to discover the ship need two peoples and hastily call K4 to go and help him.
Bystran spot a pirate trying to slide inside the still partially open ramp, and in fear and desperation slam the ramp control, causing the emergency protocols to engage, forcing shut the ramp with explosive bolts for the first time in a century. The ramps slams close with a sickening crunch, both from the tortured ship frame and from the half pirate now on board, who look at his missing parts with a crazed expression before dying.
The last pirate manage to enter the ship from the top airlock, running straight in front of a very pissed of Mandalorian.

Vorkots slam the newcomer with a body blow, crushing him against the bulkead, the pirate fall unconscious, a comlink rolling down from his limp hands. Vorstoks take the commlink and say "Bystran the Golden sends is regards, and say, come and get it!" before crushing it.
Ricky and K4 manage to take off, dismantling the port clamps and further straining the landing system. With a bit of fancy maneuvers the two abandon the area quickly, just in time to evade a tie fighter wing approaching the starport to investigate.

A day on the salt flats between some rocky hills enable the team to make some essential repair, interrogate the semi-conscious but delirious pirate, and discover that: he is part of the Nightsisters fleet, that he have a 500 credit bounty on him and that the Sisters where searching for some coordinates in one of the ship in the spaceport, and he and all the others where there as a diversive and for pure looting.
From this the team deduce that the Sister are ballsy enough to assault the sector capital spaceport, or desperate to have those coordinates, that the pirate serves them alive, since the bounty is alive only, for interrogation purposes (confirmed by a quick look on the local holonet bulletins) and that the Sisters themselves have a 100.000 credits bounty, dead or alive.

So they decide to go back to spaceport, mainly because Bystran have a refit contract already payed in full (and a big loan to repay for it), but also to find some work and to cash the bounty.

Cut to: The Grand Design, local Cantina, Bounty Hunter Guild collection point and main attractive of the city.

As soon as they are inside Bystran seats down to play Sabbac with some locals (he has the gambling addiction defect), Vorkots go to cash the bounty, Ricky and K4 starts listening in the patrons for interesting tips.

Against all odds Bystran won the Sabbac game, racking 500 credits from a graciously losing Barscow, who present himself as a broker for the indipendent traders, with confirmation from the other captains who where enjoying the game.
At the team request for work, he reply that he works only with known crews, and in that moment Neena present himself and ask the team if they are interested in taking a cargo.

From this onward the story unfolded exactly as in the Adventure One, Episode Two of the Minos Cluster campaign, with the encounter with Tecknel Shnick et al, session ending on Tecknel last words: "do not open the crates, If you do, I'll send the lceman after you, got it?"
(Vorstoks gulps loudly, since he knows Iceman, he is a very renowned and ruthless bounty killer in the southern quadrant of the Outer Rim)

So this is it, a little resume of the first session.
I've tried to convey the absolute fun we had, but since english is not my primary language I pre-apologize for any grammatical flunkie I've done! Smile

A little gory, but that sounds like a lot of fun! That's a great start to a campaign. Thanks for sharing.

Ehr, yes, a little gory indeed sorry. Me and my players are fans of both star wars and rambo, so every campaign will veer toward grim and gritty very quickly
