So far in my life, i've been to two live concerts. The first was Status Quo, and Mike and the Mechanics. The 2nd was for T-pau, and a local welsh band.. There's been several others i WANTED to go to, but could never make.
However, i've seen quite a few live streams of concerts and video footage of others..
So what is for you, your favorite concert you've attended or seen? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

My two favorites were Victor Borge and Weird Al Yankovic. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Gah, it's been 20 years since I saw Weird Al. I also went to several concerts for the goth band Cruxshadows, because my ex-wife was really in to them. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Depeche Mode: Music for the Masses, held in 1988 at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. 60,000 fans, and the opening acts were Howard Jones, Thomas Dolby, Wire, and OMD. |

Yup. They did both their heart and soul album and some of their new one.. IIRC that was back in 99. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I've attended over 100 concerts (and this is not counting local bar bands). Here are my favorite concerts (in alphabetical order):
Aerosmith
The Beastie Boys
The Black Crowes (2)
Black Sabbath (the complete original line-up)
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
Clutch (22)
Alice Cooper
Cypress Hill
Def Leppard
The Doors of the 21st Century (w/ Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger, and Ian Astbury.)
Bob Dylan
The Grateful Dead (yes w/ Jerry Garcia before he died)
Ice Cube w/ WC
Judas Priest
KISS
Lez Zeppelin
Living Colour
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Public Enemy
Ted Nugent
The Rolling Stones
Slash's Snakepit
Snoop Dogg
"Star Wars in Concert"
Steppenwolf
The Steve Miller Band
311 (23, once free)
Pat Travers
The Who
John Williams (conducting the Columbus Symphony Orchestra)
ZZ Top
I don't know if I could pick a single favorite concert, but if I had to it might be my first 311 show in 1995. A small venue where the pit went right up to the stage with a rickety metal rail (no security area), I was front and center on the rail. It was crazy, but I had a blast! The two vocalists literally sang and rapped in my face! No Doubt had opened for 311 at that show and I flirted with Gwen Stefani that night, but I don't have any witnesses for that.
I never met Weird Al, but I do have a few music "claims to fame":
1. As a clumsy teenager that ended up in the VIP section of a Bruce Springsteen concert, I accidentally backhanded David Crosby in the back of his head.
2. Remember Slash from Guns N' Roses? He jumped out on speaker I was standing beside, and I strummed his guitar live in concert during a solo (and he didn't kick me in the face). Rock!
3. I met Ray Manzerek, keyboardist of The Doors, and chatted with him for about 10 minutes. Rock! (RIP Ray Manzerek) I don't have any photos for these events but I do have witnesses for all three!
My favorite band since 2004 is Clutch, a rock band from Maryland, the same four guys since 1991. I've seen them 22 times in concert and loved them all. What Would A Wookiee Do? _________________ *

Garth Brooks (Country Christmas concert series)
Toby Keith (x2), the first time he was an opening act with Tim McGraw!!!
Depeche Mode (x3)
OMD (opened for Depeche in 88)
Thomas Dolby (opened for Depeche in 88)
Clint Black
Miranda Lambert
Shania Twain (boy, she's horrible live!!)
Dixie Chicks
Go-Gos (reunion, House of Blues-Anaheim)
New Order (opened by Bjork-who was booed off stage!)
The Bangles (x2), first time at the Santa Monica civic auditorium, the 2nd time at the Santa Monica HS gym!?!? They had JUST released their first big album. |

I haven't gone to many concerts, but I've seen Def Leppard four of five times. The last time was with Heart a few years ago, which was amazing! The Wilson sisters were incredible. _________________ Currently playing D&D 5E and painting an unholy amount of miniatures. |

Cool. My single time seeing Def Leppard was 1988 in the Summer of Pour Some Sugar on Me.
Unfortunately I missed my chances to see Heart. I would have loved that if they played their 70s rock hits. _________________ *
