June was the Rancor Pit's highest traffic month so far this year. Here are some June stats, and these figures do not include robots or worms (which are also counted but reported separately).
Unique visitors: 6,331
Number of visits: 11,747
Being the man behind the curtain with the full view of these things, it's just sad that less than 1% of all visitors participate. It is what it is, but it is still sad.

Coupled with the fact that, intentionally or not, some members can be fairly territorial and can slam down a neophyte poster pretty quick in a manner that might be received as callous.

I can believe that some lurkers feel intimidated. We need to not be callous and "slam down" neophytes, or any posters for that matter. A few former lurkers that made the leap have expressed to me that the well-defined posting guidelines against excessive negativity made the difference for them.

This is a great site that I should post more on, I've been lax with my
participation for a while
I'll aim to change that.
I shall also add that I was a lurker for some time before I joined up, and
I've had nothing but positive interactions. So I'll encourage others to do the same a get involved.
