What's amazing about it, is that LFL had a shortage of stormtrooper armor, and they put out a call to the 501st Fan Costume Club, who not only had stormtrooper armor to spare, Dave Filoni said that the 501st provided themselves as extras because their armor was of cinematic quality.... which is high praise.

On the other hand, The Mandalorian looks quite literally AMAZING!!! The price for Disney+ has been confirmed to be $6.99/month, and the entire season will be dropping at one time.....on November 12th. |
I'm not too excited about The Mandalorian but I definitely want to check it out. Kathleen Kennedy indicated it had an epic scale. I am intrigued.

Wait a sec, what's that First Order trooper doing standing in there with the rest of those Empire stormtroopers? One of these things is not like the others... _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies
Only some of it is for D6 Star Wars.
Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them. |

That's easy: This is a unit in transition. They don't have the resources to upgrade all the armor at once so you're just seeing what that Imperial unit could afford.
Ok, where's my NO-PRIZE? _________________ Aha! |

Someone really needs to have a word with the quartermaster, then...preferably someone not named Kylo Ren. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Yes. It looks VERY Awesome.
On one hand I'm really glad I'm currently running my Mandalorian based game.
On the other hand...I'm getting a bit of anxiety over it. A little worried about what, if anything, it is going to disrupt about the canon.
I know I can disregard anything I don't like for my own game; but it can be hard on players when they might see something and hope that it goes for my game too... |

I can appreciate that. If your game and the show can't be reconciled, hopefully your players can accept the multiverse concept. But it is a large galaxy and Mandalorian culture is deep, so it may be possible to reconcile apparent discontinuities, from a certain point of view. _________________ *

Not all Mandalorian clans share the same values. We see enough of that in the existing material. (TCW and SWR) _________________ RR

Depends. Most supernumerary TV, theater, and film costumes are JUNK. They only have to look real on camera, and they only have to keep from falling apart until shooting wraps up. You'll hear actors talk about how the stuff fans wear to cons is nicer than what they wore on the show/film. Or fans who get permission to inspect original costumes are surprised to find out a bunch of awesome looking details are made of things like cardboard or bubble wrap that's been painted.
The more obsessive cosplayers probably wear much nicer costumes than what was in their favorite movies/films.
I remember talking to a guy who hired a bunch of historical reenactors as extras, and despite being the supernumeraries who could've worn felt and tin foil cause they'd never be less than 30 feet from the camera (which is what he'd have put them in if he'd had to provide costumes for extras)... he said they had better costumes than the movie stars. |

Honestly, I'm more excited for this than I am for TRoS. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

So, this Clone Wars reference - a tragedy that shaped our main hero?
We can also see the blast effect on armor (or no effect ) - no physical punch with the blast.
Carl Weathers and shoulder cannon in one show? Only one this is missing then... _________________ Don’t Let the Rules Get in the Way of a Good Story. |

There's still no date for Disney Plus to launch in the UK, so I've no idea how or when I can watch this. Avoiding spoilers is going to be tricky!!! _________________ "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." |
