|
|
Can anyone recommend a good free software program to help design deck plans for ships and such? I have an idea for a custom ship that I want to design (kind of a freighter that plays on the SFS line of shuttles in terms of its design features, instead of the usual CEC freighter approach), but I'd like to do it in a software system.
Does anyone know the software suite that folks used to design some of the deck plans in the Baudo custom yacht thread? Ideally, this would be something free... |

I've been corresponding with Frank Bonura, of the Star Wars Deckplans Alliance, and he suggested Google Sketch Up. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Hmm. Ok. I'll check it out. Thanks!
Does anyone know of, like, a top-down editing program that does this? I mean where you craft an overhead view of the ship interior. I know Dungeon Designer does some stuff like this and may have tile set, but I was wondering if anyone knew of others. |

I'm not sure there is such a thing; the guy I mentioned above used this style in pretty much all of his deckplans from that era, and he's the one recommending Google Sketch-Up. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
