Han shot first! Overall, I really enjoyed the movie.
Authors of Wookieepedia wrote: | However, through his hate and will to survive, Maul used the Force to grab an air vent as he was tumbling down the reactor shaft. He then managed to make it to a trash container.[13] Maul's shattered body was dumped on the junkyard world of Lotho Minor.[20] He lived in the bowels of the planet and had his legs replaced by a six-legged apparatus that allowed him to walk again. |
This isn't just cartoons anymore. Somebody please give me a better explanation for how Maul survived being cut in half through the waist. Zabrak special ability? They're near-human, so it seems so fantastic. _________________ *

Since it seems we are free to discuss the movie and include spoilers, did you all notice the cool throwbacks to the old eu?
The droid rights movement, or at least it seemed L3 wasn't totally unique in that aspect.
Her personality helped her being a bit extreme, but to be fair I liked her.
The was the awesome holo, it too made sense and it makes sense that the shadow collective could include other sub grouos like the crimson dawn.
But I still hve some questions and need to see the movie again at least 55 times, it is str wars after all.
The female wookie was a stranger but wookie, not Chewie's wife?
And Han, he siad he got kicked out of flight school, so we know he attended
however did we see him actually as a MUD TROOPER and as such actually a stormie ( Mud troopers being stormies)
And what was that knife that Vos had, seemed like some form of lightsaber-like technology.
And did anyone else notice that it is now canon that the DL-44 is a reconfigurable Blaster like the lighter A180.
Beckett dissassebled a rifle and from that tossed Solo the gun. |

Yes, we are free to discuss spoilers without spoiler tagging here in this thread only.
Yes, I noticed a lot of a lot of throwbacks for the EU, and references to other movies. I thought I heard Takodana being mentioned. I think there was a quick glance of a Twi'lek. Becket was eating one of those Naboo sea monsters! Too many to list now.

Truth be told my heart sank when I saw that non-awesome holo. Otherwise I really liked the movie. I'm even ok with the giant black hole monster. But putting Maul in there was utterly pointless for this movie. Bringing him back to life after being cut in half at the waist was bad enough, but before it was only for use in cartoons. Now it's film canon. At the end of the movie, the first thing the two 8-year-olds in our group said (and almost simultaneously) was Maul being in the movie was "stupid" before any adults said anything. And they love the Rebels and TCW cartoons.
But I'm trying to be positive about it because I like the rest of the movie. I'd really love to hear some explanation I can buy for Maul surviving TPM. If not then maybe in my SWU it was just a clone of Maul in Solo. And I am thankful that at least they didn't put Ashoka in the movie. I think that would be more film-defying. _________________ *

So Beckett killed Aura Sing...
I enjoy the various references.
But I do think they tried to shoe-horn/ explain/ reference too many tidbits of Han's past into a single movie. It's almost like they were afraid they'd never get a chance to do another Han tale so they blew the whole wad.

My assumption was that that was how the movie was portraying vibro-knives. A vibro-knife is difficult to 'show' in a movie, so they maybe used some creative license. (?)
One of the best parts. Really reinforces that Han knows that in certain situations...you shoot first or you are dead. |

I loved that Han's father assembled YT-1300s was wonderful and strengthens Han's connection to the Falcon even deeper. _________________ "EXECUTE ORDER 67. Wait a minute, that doesn't sound like order 67..... No, wait. Yes, yes it does. EXECUTE ORDER 68" Palpatine's last moments - robot chicken. |

Also loved that the Imperial recruiting vid had the Imperial March music playing "in world". Does this mean that the Imperial band was practicing during TESB. _________________ "EXECUTE ORDER 67.
