I was brainstorming a character concept, sort of a crazy one and came up with the iron knight, that alone is both a bit weird and fun.
As there is no real reason to why the droid body can not be anything large enough I landed on a life size copy of Vader version of an Iron Knight.
Sort of a fun concept, and would such a thin be doable, lets say he uses a lightsaber that is red-ish, but not "sith-red".
I am seeing the character as part of a rebel black ops unit, specializing in infiltrating imperial installations and "securing" data and research etc
Any thoughts?
Maybe some recommended skills outside lightsaber and lightsaber combat, vader hobby, and intimidation.

Wait... is it a droid, or a cybernetically enhanced amputee? |

It's a Shard inside a droid chassis built to look exactly like Darth Vader. _________________ RR

Well, when Darth Vader was in his pink phase, he was more Diet Vader, or Darth Vader Light, 30% less Dark Side. We don't talk about his Frilly Phase. And three cloaks studded with vibrospikes was just impractical, edgelord phase or not.
Anyhow, I suspect that just carrying a lightsaber is enough, color and possibly synthetic or 'bled' crystal aside - I don't think the details of Lord Vader's actual lightsaber would be common knowledge in the Empire.
You could also pattern it after a HRD, essentially ending up being a Shard-host HRD inside a replica armor, rather than having the armor itself being the replica droid. It would also help protect against scans and so on. |

By red-ish, but not "sith-red" do you mean sometimes-pink like Vader's actual lightsaber? |
with the "new" canon things are a little different.
Good old days, the jedi could under certain conditions create natural red ( different shine to them) crystals, one way normal kybers became red was if they were developed along with kinrath eggs etc.
So with the new canon I would go with something more magenta. |

Frankly, Vader is so iconic that I wouldn't want to water down his effect by making an inferior copy. Now, a Shard in a IG-100 Magnaguard body, though... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. The Lucas films are canon in both canons. You lost me in your reply to my joke about how Vader's saber seems to have a pink glow in some shots. It's definitely my fault for even going there.

Exactly! Inspired by Vader's "pink phase" I will definitely have a Dark Side villain with a fully pink lightsaber in my coming campaign. _________________ *
