On earth there are creatures that cause of their musk/spray, can cause people to be violently ill, and stink for days to even weeks afterwards even after bathing multiple times.. like the wolverine and skunk..
What would the in game effects, be if a PC got hit by something like a full in the face skunk spray? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The Dinko is an already-existing example. http://d6holocron.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dinko However, I think the writeup leaves a little to be desired.
I'd likely use it like a status effect, similar to being poisoned. Probably something like a Stamina check against some damage code; if you fail you are Nauseated (-2D) on everything, and you can roll again in a number of hours. Perhaps a dropoff in the damage effect over time, depending on how stinky it is. |

Not to mention the social effects of stinking...
How about a penalty on persuasion, bargain, or other skills that would normally require a character to engender a person's good graces.
On the other hand, in some circumstances, it may make sense to apply a bonus to some social skills, such as intimidate (if being stinky reinforces the scary prospect) or even con (if being stinky would make what the character is saying seem to be true), etc. |

Personally, I think this would be better represented by an adjustment of difficulty numbers. In opposed rolls, this would work exactly like cover adding to a defensive dodge. The character really doesn't have any less skill, but the circumstances will obviously make it a more challenging roll. That said, given the example above, perhaps requiring the stamina roll above could be an additional modifier.. basically imposing a 1D MAP penalty due to the continuous distraction (in addition to any potential difficulty modifiers of course). What do you think? _________________ "The universe is driven by the complex interaction between three ingredients: matter, energy, and enlightened self-interest."
