So, as much as I like what I did with the Valiant and the Diktat, I've been having some mixed feelings about co-opting ships that the EU has designated and used as specifically Mon Cal ships (even though they don't look like the classic Mon Cal ships). What with my explanation for the Profundity from Rogue One (a Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps product, rather than a "converted building"), the two ships images I used for my "big Corellian ships" could very easily have the same explanation.
As such, I've been casting my sights further afield in search of a new muse for "big Corellian ships". One in particular I'm considering is:
I particularly like this one, as it has very obvious similarities to the Corellian Corvette and Corellian Gunship, and could easily be considered their "big brother", as a frigate. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Oh yeah, those cylindrical engines and the bridge viewport practically scream "Corellian engineering" (if not "Corellian Engineering Corporation"). _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Corellian Navy in my SW universe use the Colonial Vipers from Battlestar Galactica; only we call 'em 'Corellian Vipers'.
So naturally, my 'Big Corellian ships' are Battlestars. |

I just typed Big Corellian Ships into Google Image Search and went browsing. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

I've long considered poaching ships from Renegade Legion: Leviathan and making them the big Corellian ships. Just not sure which ships would be the best fit: TOG or Commonwealth. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. The beauty of Renegade Legion is that you don't have to pick a side. Renegade units are armed with whatever TOG ships/fighters/tanks they defected with and whatever ships and equipment the Commonwealth adds to their TO&E.
I vote you pick and choose what you like from either side. Just don't forget that the Interceptor and both Fighter Briefing books have Corvettes you can choose from/ |

Has there ever been a novel or comic that featured one of the "Big Corellian Ships"?
I don't think I've seen one.
How about in either of the two Han Solo trilogies, or the Corellian trilogy? |

Sutehp wrote: | Outrunning a ship at hyperspace isn't really all that impressive. It's not like a ship chasing a ship at hyperspace seems all that feasible. Is ship combat at hyperspace even possible? Once you jump to hyperspace, unless the other ship can put a tracking device on you or you make a really short jump (as implied by the Devastator catching up to the Tantive IV between RO and ANH), then you're safe.
It seems more possible that Han was referring to capital ships that had a really high Space rating.
EDIT: Are there any statted ships that have/had a class .75 hyperdrive besides Dash Rendar and the Outrider, not just in any WEG book, but anywhere? |
It makes perfect sense to me. Especially if the pursuing ship knows where your destination is... Like if you were smuggling contraband along an established black market trade route or making the Kessel Run, or if you had to return to a certain crime lord's headquarters to get paid. Being able to outrun an opposing vessel through hyperspace is essential in any number of circumstances. |

Heck, even in the corellian trilogy, there were no real opposition CORELLIAN ships in Solo's fleet.. That being Sal Traken solo!
He did have some robotic controlled Neb Bs though. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
