Droid Control Crown: If a DD-3 makes physical contact with the housing of a droid's cognitive module
(Dexterity/Melee attack vs. target defense), the penetrative programming transmitters located in its
appendages may attempt to seize control over the target droid, on a successful droid programming roll
opposed by the target droid's willpower.
Gyro-balanced Tread Mode: +1D to Dexterity-based rolls when deployed.
Repulsorlift Flight Mode: +1D bonus to flight-based skills.
Wrist-clasp Com-Scan Mode: Serves as broadcast and receiver array for most standard frequencies and HoloNet signals,
with integrated basic sensor suite:
Passive: 50m/0D
Search: 25m/1D
• Verbobrain
Story Factors:
• Small Size: Due to the DD-3's size (under 30cm), any character-scale attacks against it are performed at +2D difficulty to hit
and +2D to damage, while any of the DD-3's "attacks" receive a +2D bonus to hit.
Move: 8 (wheeled) / 12 (flight)
Availability: 2, F
Cost: 2,000 credits (new) + 750 credits (permit fee)

Interesting write up. Any idea where the concept of the DD3 even came from? I know the artwork is as per that link. BUT does that link describe in it where HE got the idea? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Thanks, garhkal! And this was done for one of the ILM art challenges in 2016. Although I haven't had a chance to read the actual parameters the artists were given,
according to contestant Paul Massey, they were tasked with designing a droid that, "... should be like R2's little bro', his sidekick, but he's a little annoying, a touch feisty."
Massey is responsible for this also nifty "tire" based design:
