Community created, shared directory and entry tracker created. I hope to go through the files already available to figure out what is done already and allow us to review them. _________________ Don Diestler

I don't want to put a damper on things, but I think most of the stats need to be redone. They were based in part on what transpired in the comics, and those are now Legends and non-canon. I don't think they reflect the Clone Wars cartoon that preceded the Rebels cartoon. |

shootingwomprats, thanks for your leadership on this project.

If you are still going with the originally intended framing narrator be that old Jedi librarian lady, I strongly disagree with that choice. She wasn't even in the movie, she was probably slayed by Anakin Vader in the Temple and she would have no insight to the events of the films. When this book was first in development, I suggested Obi-Wan be the narrator as he was a central character privy to a lot of the film's plot, and he would have plenty of time on Tatooine to reflect on the events that lead to him being there. The project leader at the time rejected that idea because he didn't see Obi-Wan as being much a writer, so old librarian bitty was a better choice. Obi-Wan's journal does not exist! lol

I think you're probably right, but a problem comes in with trying to make the characters too reflective of TCW. That show had the Jedi and Sith ridiculously powerful, doing all manners of things that I just can't imagine being pulled off in live action. So I think it would probably be best to try to make the stats most reflective of the live action films, and reference the rest of the stuff only when it's not contradictory to the films.

Also, discussion over the stats of the Revenge of the Sith characters went south fast here and exploded into big forum fight over it. I think it all started with disagreement over Obi-Wan's Force skills. I doubt the worst offenders are still here and it's quite laughable to think about now, but I still strongly suggest the stats be handled by as few people as possible. Community efforts are great but there is such a thing as too many hands in the pot for some things. I feel stats are one of those. I also feel that whoever handles stats should run all stats by Chesire for continuity with the prior fan works.

I could also help with RotS. We have worked out a pretty good system for working on these sorts of things if you are interested.
1. We create a Google community for the project.
2. We generate a spreadsheet, broken down into sections (alien species, vechiles, starships, etc). This is generated from information from Visual Guide's, appropriate canon material and wookieepedia as needed. Everyone can access this document and mark what they want to do. It is color coded and marked as IN PROGRESS or COMPLETE.
3. Within that community we create a shared directory that people upload their stats to. This too is broken down by category.
4. As items are created we create and post a link to the community for everyone to see and comment on.

It has indeed worked well. I'm up for getting involved, but I want to finish Rogue One first

I also am in the middle of editing my own project.... Once it's done, then I'd be in a much more accessible position. |

Only some of it is for D6 Star Wars.
Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them. |
