Well, at least nowadays with PoD books, you can find and replace some of these books; even do them in hardback if need be.

I'm actually thinking about doing this with the Imperial Sourcebook with CRMcNeill's new COMPNOR additions. That would make for especially nice reading. Hell, I want to add CRMcNeill's new scale system to the REUP corebook and do a PoD of that as well.

I agree. Having them in PDF makes it easy to have them all with you on the go. BUT nothing beats the feel of the paper in your hands

You can get certain PDFs printed in hardback now. RoE is one of those books that I wouldn't feel guilty about doing since I own the original.

R&E still had those, but they were scattered throughout, not on a collection of special pages in the middle.

| Oh. No it did not, not exactly anyways. It had some but they were different. I used to have all 3 versions of the hardback core rulebook but only kept the first two after some consideration. |

If you're down for some white-collar political intrigue, I can't recommend "Lords of the Expanse" and "Tapani Instant Adventures" enough. I always thought of the Tapani noble houses along the lines of the Drow Houses of Menzoberranzan, everyone jockeying for power and backstabbing each other the whole way. Also, being so close to the core worlds, the Empire is pretty much looking for any excuse to come in and annex the whole sector, so that's a great threat to loom over the PCs and also bring pressure from the nobles, who don't exactly want to see their influence diminished due to a few upstart Rebels causing problems.

I love Tapani. Such a rich setting full of adventure opportunities.

My son and I went through Jedi's Honor a few times last year and we didn't care for it. We have Scoundrel's Luck too but haven't tried it. Let me know what you think of these.
As a kid I had a whole bunch of the CYOA series and loved them. I don't remember what happened to them. For nostalgia's sake I tracked down a copy of the CYOA#1 The Cave of Time. It brought back old memories.

| I saw they were COYA stories, so while I was initially hesitant to buy them, they looked to be in mint condition, so I figured if I was going to try and buy all the books, I might as well... |

The books that hooked me most as a player were GG6: Tramp Freighters and GG9: Fragments from the Rim - especially the Special Ops section. The slang list was fantastic. We still tell stories of our Special Ops team (called "KAMFEHR team" for "Kick-A**, M*****-F******, Empire-Hating Rebels" - it was college 8) ) and our heavily-modified Ghtroc freighter.
As a GM, I've used bits and pieces of *everything* but our most beloved and longest-running campaign took place in the Elrood Sector, so I nearly wore the binding out of Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Three. That group (they came to be known as "Damage, Inc.") used Rules of Engagement pretty heavily, too.
WEG put out some REALLY GREAT stuff. |
