Share your creative, cute, comedic NPC or PC droid names and nicknames. And if you want, anything else you want to share about the droid (model, background, personality, modifications, stats, whatever). But at least the name/nickname.

For example: R5-KD "Katie"

Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them.

A PC in my first campaign had a droid named "Zone" too. R2-Z1 or R3-Z1, I think.

Did it have a transparent dome or not? That would be an easy way to tell an R2 from an R3. 8)

The only image I ever had of it was in my imagination, and this was 1988-90, so off the top of my head I'm not sure about the dome. 8) However it was probably R2-Z1 because this was 1e and I don't think we had stats for R3s yet.

K5-DR1: "Drone"

"Goldenrod" was a ship. A long, cylindrical ship. With two bulbous engine pods at the back. And an ostentatious paint job. Which meant it was never used for droids.

One I stole from Magnus Robot Fighter: "(somethingorother)-H8" = Hate.

That reminds me. IIRC, Wedge, during the Yhuuzan Vong War had an R5 droid that was nicknamed "Wompbat" that had two annoying tendencies: it hated that nickname and had a tendency to scream in terror during combat...so Wedge had it mindwiped, redesignated with the new number R5-G8 and called it "Gate." Their working relationship dramatically improved after that.

He was originally “Mynock,” and this was during the Liberation of Coruscant and the Bacta War.

My mistake, it was Mynock, not Wompbat. And it was during the X-Wing series, not the Yhuuzan Vong War.

...it's really easy to confuse those things, isn't it? Mr. Green

(Crap, my memory is failing me. I'm getting old... Embarassed )

Do casinos even allow droids? "We don't serve their kind here" indeed.

And whoever heard of a droid going to Gamblers Anonymous? Shocked

My PC's personal droid was named R2-PB. He was her beloved childhood astromech, whom she retrieved from Coruscant years later as a young adult, and revived from his slumber via her Force-attuned mechanical aptitude -- long before R2-D2 ever awoke from his TFA coma on the big screen. My PC's relationship with R2-PB was largely played for sentimental effect. (The P.B. name came from "Polar Bear" -- and was meant to reflect the childhood / teddy bear aspect, as well as his black, white and gray color scheme).

In terms of other droids that have come and gone in our campaigns, I don't recall the actual digits of their names, BUT for a time, we had a "Harcourt" and a "Harland" as bickering Gonk droids!

I suddenly really like the idea of theriaformed droids as babysitters for rich children.
