The INCOM A-24 Sleuth Scout ship.

RAW says you need a space transports skill to operate this vessel.

But it is pretty small and seems to share a lot of qualities of a large star fighter.

Would you allow a PC to use Pilot Starfighter skill to fly this baby?

Based on this deck plan, I'd allow it. With that little space, with a single pilot and passenger, it's small enough to qualify.

Well, if you look many scout ships are considered starfighter scale (and some do even LOOK like it), same with some yachts (the baudo) but are space transport skill.

Yeah, the sleuth is one of those. It's listed as Star fighter scale.

THAT is the very deckplan being used. Smile

my opinion is it comes down to how the ship maneuvers. does it maneuver like a starfighter or like a space transport?

Redthorn scoutship, 24 meters, SF scale, Space transport skill.
Vangaard pathfinder, 36 meters, SF scale, Space xport skill
Lone scout A, SF scale, 24 meters, Space xport skill
Tie/SR lone scout B, exactly same as above
Outsystem scout vessel, 63 meters SF scale, Space xport skill
DPX Yacht (Deep=x explorer), 12 meters, space transport skill, SF scale
and The MRX-BR pacifier, 25 m, sf scale, Space xport skill..

Umm.... wait.

Aren't ALL "space transports" starfighter scale?

Well, no.

The Action IV, V, and VI are all capital scale. Bulk freighters, mind you, but still a counter example.

Personally, I find that when a ship crosses about 50m in length, it might need to be bumped up from Starfighter scale. At least the 90m+ ones shouldn't be Starfighter scale any more.

The barge driver Corellian Engineering BD-27 Transport at 110m is a particular example of a Starfighter-scale ship that I think belongs in a different class. The W-23 space barge is 80m in length and is Capital scale.

The actual point he's making is that, based on WEG's posted length (which was then used to make the deck plans on the link above), the Sleuth is so tiny as to be well within the starfighter range-of-size, smaller than, say, a B-Wing. In addition, the cockpit is small and cramped, little larger than what one would find on a two-seat Y-Wing, with minimal living arrangements and cargo space aft.

Based on the fact that it is so close in size, the ship could move and handle like a starfighter, not a space transport.

I'd say it's a 'tweener. Either/or skill would be fine by me.

Not sure if you were referring to "my" point or not...

But that point that I was making was that any ship that uses the "Space Transports" skill is classified as starfighter scale, while ships that are capitol scale all use the capitol ship piloting.

That is, of course, unless I'm mistaken.

I say that only based on size, G. All others are definitely Space Transports, although I could see the capital ships being Capital Ship Piloting.

I'm posting this thought here since it bears on this topic; has anyone ever considered merging Starfighter Piloting and Space Transports into a single skill and just calling it Starship Piloting?
