Slow Haul Freighter
The Slow-Haul Freighter is a ship designed for simple, consistent supply runs. Compared to higher-end ships, they take a very long time to reach anywhere. They also have no armament, minimal shields, and little space for passengers. Favored by loners, writers, and others unbothered by long periods alone (or with droids), the Slow-Haul Freighter also sees some popularity as a "trainer ship" for introducing young pilots to astrogation and hyperspace.
When used in convoys, it is not uncommon for one ship's container to have 4-5 drone fighters for defense.
Craft: RFD-SHF-68
Type: Slow-Haul Freighter

Crew Skill: Space transports 4D, starship shields 4D+1, Astrogation 3D
Passengers: Up to 3
Cargo Capacity: 10 metric tons (ship), 150 metric tons (cargo container)
Consumables: 3 months
Cost: 25,000 (new), 13,000 (used). Cargo Containers are 5000 new, or 2000 credits used.

Attaching to a cargo container reduces a RFS-SHF's Manueverability by 1D, and its Space speed by 1. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Nice.. Might want to add a line say saying "due to this ship being built with long hauls and ease of training in mind, its harder to upgrade than most freighters are adding +10 to the difficulty to do any upgrades or improvements".. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I figure this ship has enough drawbacks to start with... it's unarmed, poorly shielded, slow and lumbering. It uses a backup hyperdrive as its primary, and might be able to be outrun by a sufficiently motivated mynock. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

I drive big rigs, so the resemblance here is unmistakable. All I can say is that the idea of kicking back and reading a book while the ship does all the driving is an appealing one. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
