If you was to make a "Speed racer" SW style, would he be a swoop, Speeder bike or Pod racer type of PC? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

What if Statham's character from the Transporter series.. I see that more of a Repulsorlift guy than swoop/pod racer dude. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

In the SWU, the Transporter would be more along the lines of the blockade runner. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

I' go with repulsorlift... but that's just because of my personal preference for a character concept; a swoop bike would be the "best" option. |

A courier is an in-universe example of a Transporter. |

So remembering the 3 transporter films, his character was great in hand to hand (high brawl and brawl parry), was outstanding in driving most vehicles (high repulsor ops ground transport ops, swoop ops and maybe even walker ops), a smooth talker (high bargaining, persuasion and con), and knew several spots in the underground (high streetwise).. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Perhaps he could be an ex-member of that imperial special mission group detailed in Wretched Hives of Scum and Villainy.
The ones craking down on the swoop racers...can't recall specifics... |

The thing about the transporter: he's the only character in "the party," so his high skills are necessary in a wide variety of areas.
Incidentally, if the game were focused on "speed racing," Id want some major modifications to the vehicle rules.
The main thing for the character that I feel D6 falls short on is the pilotng skills. This is one area where I feel d20 does it better: each class of vehicle requires a feat. If the character lacks the feat, he rolls pilot but at a -4 penalty (which is fairly steep in d20).
The D6 equivalent would be specialization in a CLASS of vehicle (rather than specific models). I think this would be appropriate for a game focused on races/chases, etc... especially if a variety of scenarios is desired. |
