Hey guys .
I need some advice on running skill specialisations.
The two listed in the main book are long distance and sprint. I don't see why any one would ever take long distance when this basically the same skill as stamina or even take running as a skill by it self when spint is the only one your would use in combat.
I don't want to disadvantage my players but I really don't like sprint as specialisation but can't think of any others than terrain types like forest , desert or urban.
Your thoughts would be appreciated. |

I agree. I don't actually use skill specializations at all in my game, we like the game much better with simple general skills as they are.
However, terrain types is OK, but it might be a challenge for players to justify a specialty in forest running or desert running or icy surfaces, etc.
If pressed, I might consider parkour or stunt-running as a viable specialty. |

I allow a parkour as a climbing/jumping specialization in my games. _________________ Don Diestler

The difference is you roll your running for actually navigating the terrain, so if say yu had sprint, and were doig a 110 meter hurdles, you would roll your sprint spec against the diff (say 20)..
Where as with the stamina part, that comes in to see if you can keep UP your pace. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
