				| A starship is like a yacht or a fishing boat or a motor home in my opinion. Depending on condition, options, age, rarity, mileage/parsecs on the clock, etc, the price may range between 5 and 7 digits.
Since each lightsaber is unique, it might be considered something like a custom-made or master-crafted sword. Certain katanas, for example, sell for 5 digits. Though, since a lightsaber would only be available on the black market, the price would depend largely on both the seller's and buyer's knowledge of the merchandise in question.

				| Well, lightsabers would be considered priceless objects, in their and our marketplace, and we know from ANH that you can almost buy your own ship for 17,000. But the cost of ships and lightsabers may not have much to do with the pay of Imperial intelligence agent.
I would just decided if you want them to be corrupt or not. If not pay them handsomely and if so, pay them so little that they are motivated to extort bribes out of people. Whatever works for your campaign.

The Empire is over a million worlds, but lets call it a million for simplicity. That means in one earth-year, a million years worth of economics unfolds in the galactic Empire. All of written history on earth is only about 5,000 years. So in a single month, about 83,333 (ie, 17 times all written history) years of economics unfolds in Star Wars. That is room for such huge variation that no one number could possibly be the "most accurate". In an economy that big, values could fluctuate a lot.

Actually Han's first offer was "10,000, all in advance" and that's what prompted Luke to say, "We could almost buy our own ship for that." WEG priced used stock YT-1300s at 25,000, but I guess 10,000 could almost be a price for a small used star-shuttle not built to haul freight. But maybe Luke saying "almost" was exaggerating a bit, or just wrong. After all he did call an R5-unit an "R2-unit".

2,000 up front plus 15,000 when we they reached Alderaan (17,000 total) was Obi-Wan's counterproposal. Just sayin'.

				| I am currently playing in a Imperial campaign, Our GM googled U.S. pay rates for 1977.
We play a Spec Force team attached to the 501st.

My character is a captain with 12 years service he gets 1380cr a month (when we can get back to the fleet).

Most of our equipment is issued on a as needed basis and our major expenditure tends to be bribes to crime bosses to get information or access to various locations.

Except for the odd occasion when we can go Full Imp. And use threats of orbital bombardment etc.

				| SO what does your group actually USE that pay for, since as a spec force group, practically everything you need gets (or should be) supplied by the imperials. _________________
