Would someone be able to wield a larger scale weapon than character if the had the appropriate strength to be able to lift it?
I don't see any rules on this.
And this rarely comes up so if I posted this once before - sorry. |

I don't think there are any main rules on this, not that I've seen anyway. some individual weapons might have specific rules due to heaviness or being unwieldy though.
Have you tried the D6 Fantasy rules set? they might have rules for this sort of thing.
If you have to home rule something you could increase the difficulty to use the weapon, give a penalty to the skill, or maybe force the character to make stamina rolls to avoid getting fatigue and be unable to keep carrying the weapon.

I have seen something on medium/heavy repeaters, but they were mostly HRs. All i see in the books is that they require a crew of 2 (skeleton 1) to use and power generators for ammo.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Voort saBinring (of Wraith Squadron fame) converted an X-wing laser cannon into a personal assault weapon. I think there was a backpack generator involved, slow rate of fire, and reduced damage code, but it seemed to work quite well. _________________ Aha! |

Which we don't have stats for anywhere ..*hangs head and sighs*
It is precedence though - which means it can occur and was done with a starfighter scale weapon - this one is only walker.
At least theres that. |

agreed - and the player went another route and made a slugthrower instead as it was easier. |

So a Walker-scale slugthrower... I hope you're using caseless ammo or at least ejecting the massively heavy spent shells away from your party.
War Suit of Doom Player (WSDP): "That's it! The kid gloves are off! Maximum fire rate on these nerfherders!"
GM (who after a long pause addresses the rest of the party): "Um, the rest of you guys need to roll Dodge."
Just a thought. 8) _________________ Aha! |

Ok, a smallish (relatively) Gauss Rifle, then. Inert metallic slugs so no worries about ammo explosions or concussing your buddies with spent casings. The hypersonic booms are a concern, as you noted. Still, that's pretty sweet!
May I ask what sort of targets needed this level of kinetic justice? _________________ Aha! |

Walker scale droids with a pair of fire linked blaster cannons (same kind the above ones were stolen from) and now roller droids - think droideka as speeder scale.

Deaf Knight (not jedi - actual medieval knight) - Nothing at first as he lay on the ground unconscious after passing out from it. The cat folk in my game have enhanced hearing by the way. After he woke up though he tried to bunch his lights out - but missed due to no equilibrium.
Powersuit o Doom - His audio cut out as his internal speakers overcompensated, then noticed the knight grab his ears and hit the ground.
Cat-Girl Techno Samurai - Always wears headphones cuss she generally has music going. Still hurt her ears but the headphones protected her from being more than temporarily deafened.
Big Gun Commando - Was wearing hearing protection , the kind DESIGNED for use when manning rocket artillery.
He temp deafened everyone within 50m - everyone in the 51-100 had to roll versus 2d stun. |

I would have hated to be standing near enough wearing glasses as that sonic boom would have shattered them into your eyes! _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
